Re: Sleepy Hollow
I finally gave up and cleared my DVR. It just never grabbed me enough to keep make it worth the time investment.

Re: World War Z
Dug this. Not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Love the fast zombies, too. I actually thought the way the fast zombies were portrayed accounted for the film's tension. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, though (as others have said) it's nothing like the book. Which I also enjoy...

Re: Sleepy Hollow
Is anybody still watching this? I've DVR'd the last like four eps and haven't watched them. I'm thinking of giving up. I don't have a ton of time for TV these days and it doesn't feel worth it.
Thoughts?

Dead in Tombstone
So I won this movie in a contest on some website... and I checked it out, because Danny Trejo is a god and it looked random... :johnwoo: In the end, I have very mixed feelings. It's a dreadful movie, on one hand, but on the other, it's close to that kind of dreadful that's enjoyable. Bad actors chew...

Re: What did you just watch? (Horror)
World War Z Far better than I expected. Plenty of fast paced action, some decent BOO scenes and some good acting. Not "an instant classic" but entertaining. I agree. I was pleasantly surprised. I know it's kind of blasphemous to say, but the fast zombies made the tension strong in the var...

Re: Something I really hate about horror fans.
(You all know, I welcome this remake and all others. I don't give a shit.) With the current tendency toward style over substance in remakes (talk about a vague generalization) I wonder what will happen with a remake of a movie -- and an entire series -- that, for my money, was always about style ov...

Re: Just a bunch of stuff i've seen lately
So it's me again. Enjoying parenthood has its virtues, but the major non-virtue is not having time for fucking anything. Preach, brother. 28 DAYS LATER ... I did like it somewhat on the first watch. I like it even more now. Even though I care very little for the verite-style shooting Boyle employs,...

Re: World War Z
I liked the book, but I've heard the movie is nothing like the book (which is not necessarily bad). So I'm intrigued. It's on my "to watch" list, but as y'all can probably tell from my Horror Movie Month list, that doesn't get churned through too fast.

Re: 'Found Footage' or Reality Films
I enjoyed BWP when I first saw it, but found that it didn't hold up on repeat viewings when I bought the DVD.
[REC] on the other hand, I've enjoyed more than once.

Re: What did you just watch (non-horror)?
The Last Stand.
Started off very, very slow. Got better toward the end, but still nothing to write home about. Too bad, as I thought it could have been a decent comeback vehicle for Ah-nuld, who was actually pretty much in good form in it.

Cosigned. I am going to keep watching, but I was like halfway through Ep. 2 and I was like, "this is crap." Then I watched the second half.

Re: Sleepy Hollow
Watched the second episode. Starting to think I backed the wrong horse here.
I don't know. I can buy the time travel and the Headless Horseman, but this is turning into Supernatural Season 1. Monster of the week and all that jazz. And it still makes no sense whatsoever.

Re: Sleepy Hollow
5. If the population is 144,000 it's not a village. I think I read somewhere that the real population of Sleepy Hollow is like 10,000 people. This was another point that confused me: Clancy Brown is the sheriff of the county, so he's checking out all these crimes in different towns in the county, a...
