Okay, why are you making me watch this. Did I piss you off?

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

This show takes a couple episodes to get it's mojo, but it's a pretty funny show that is extremely timely.shiki-jitsu wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 2:39 am How did I not know that Blackish had a spinoff named Mixedish? Is Blackish becoming the All in the Family of the 21st Century with all these spinoffs?
I haven't watched the other spinoff, so I have no idea how that is. I probably won't, I'm not interested in a teen girl navigating her first year of college. Well, maybe if it was a european movie from the 70's.

Yeah, I watch this show. I watched the first couple of episodes a long time ago, and then it fell to the bottom of the list and I forgot about it until I saw it and started watching it a couple of weeks ago. I like it. Gary Cole cracks me up, and the little girl is sassy.

Re: The Facts of Life About 80's Racism
Why? It was a great episode. It fits right in this thread.
Between Facts of Life and Dif'rent Strokes, 80's TV was really racist, especially when it was going out of its way not to be racist. Watching these shows is hilarious. It's totally the Cool Kitten pharmacists are lifesavers of the racist TV world. I don't know if that makes sense to you, but it does to me.

There are two reasons of why I think you feel the way you do.
1. You are quite disappointed in the Zack Attack and where his life has gone, or
2. The final scene awakened some dormant feelings you had about one Ricardo Tubbs that you have tried to squash for a few decades.

The only good thing about that episode was Gary Cole.

Re: The Facts of Life About 80's Racism
Today's Facts of Life brings them to the post-graduation season where Jo and Blair are in college and everyone's working in Mrs. Garrets new gourmet shop. Tootie and Natalie are still in high school, but for some reason they live with Mrs. Garret off campus and work in her shop constantly. So really she took 2 promising girls from a prep school and turned them into her kitchen help.
But I digress. This brings Jami Gertz into the show as Blair's sorority friend Boots St. Claire. That's all that matters now.

Re: The Facts of Life About 80's Racism
On the shelf in Mrs. Garret's gourmet store there's boxes of cookies called Boudoirs. I can't tell you how creepy that is.
Today Tootie meets a high school football player that she falls in love with. Of course he's black. It turns out he's illiterate. Of course he's black. Natalie gets smart white boys, Tootie gets uneducated black boys.

Tootie took care of it. She's a strong young black woman.

Did you realize that most white people on Dif'rent Strokes are gingers? That little shit Sam, Arnold's bff that's not black, Kimberly, Mrs. Garret when she was the original housekeeper. I think there has to be a casting reason for it.
