Re: Sputnik
This looks like a remake of 1955's Quatermass Xperiment. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, just that it does.

I should watch that.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Re: Sputnik
You would probably find it... challenging.
That's not a comment on you. That's a comment on 50's British SciFi/Horror. I love the first half of it. Then it becomes some alien guy driving around with his wife, or a nurse, or maybe his wife is a nurse?, (and at this point you realize they already blew their budget and are now running out the clock on the 90 minutes) and then its over. It pops up on TV occasionally, it's kind of a classic Brit movie. So watch it if you can find it free, but I wouldn't search and pay for it, I guess is what I'm saying.

Yeah, I've read reviews and stuff, and it never really seemed like my bag. But sometimes you have to do your homework, even if you don't want to.

And I kind of take back what I said about the movie might be challenging, based on that. I'm surprised DJ hasn't said anything, because I think Quatermass may be his grandfather, or at least a friend of his grandfather's. He's a very British character type that never worked in 'murica. Think of him as a cross between Sherlock Holmes and a non-magical Dr. Who. He's a smart old guy who solves things by knowledge and investigation, which is exactly what you don't want in a scifi/horror, but which you find a lot in British literature or film because they're forced to think through their problems instead of just shooting or eating something like we do.
