2020 Halloween Horror Movie Challenge

Post by Alien Redrum »

Holy shit, things have been so crazy, I almost forgot to start this! Welcome to The 12th Annual Halloween Horror Movie Challenge! :yay:

Most of this is a copy and paste from last year. We all did very well last year, with either Kevin or Me taking the trophy; I can't be assed to count. But aren't we all winners here? October 1st is just days away. This is your chance to get pumped up. So here we go!

The goal is to watch as many horror movies as you can during the month of October. If you're unsure what qualifies:

The IMDb is a good source to determine its potential horror movie status. If you're unsure, asking in the discussion thread is advised. Everything from horror-comedies, sci-fi horror, wretchedly bad horror, kiddie horror, creature features, erotic horror, Masters of Horror, silents, made-for-TV movies, etc. will count. Mini-series count as one despite the running time. LEGITIMATE STAND-ALONE DOCUMENTARIES ONLY. NO FLUFF - That refers to featurettes produced exclusively for the film's disc as supplemental material. For example, don't try and pass off the featurettes, interviews, making of and the like as part of your list.

Like last year, TV SHOWS ARE ALLOWED! This includes American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, True Blood, Tales from the Crypt or Darkside or ANY shows YOU deem worthy of the horror name! Simply name the show and list the episode(s) you watched underneath.

DON'T VIEW THE SAME FILM MORE THAN ONCE! This literally means, don't watch Tourist Trap on October 1, discuss it, and then watch Tourist Trap on October 31 and discuss it again! Once is enough! However, if you want to watch The Exorcist, and then watch The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen, go for it! They're different enough! I'm allowing it!

Finally, I'm pretty sure MOST of us here have Netflix accounts, so if you're able, feel free to post recommendations and/or updates for others to refer to so they can watch more movies instantly.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

1st October - Blade Trinity. [2004] Netflix :3.5stars: I watched the third one first because it was on Netflix, then realised the whole trilogy is on Amazon Prime. I know this gets a lot of hate because Ryan Reynolds in super annoying, and he is super annoying, but it's still a guilty pleasure for me. Absolutely dripping in 90s action movie kitsch, even though it was made in 2004.

2nd October - Blade [1998] Amazon Prime :4stars:

3rd October - Blade II [2002] Amazon Prime :4stars:

4th October - I See You [2019] Truth Seekers S01E01 Amazon Prime :4stars: - Interesting one that starts out like a standard spooky house movie with a bunch of weird things happening, then right in the middle it resets and repeats from a different perspective. I found Helen Hunt's weirdly over-plastic-surgeried face distracting in every scene she was in.

5th October - Inbred [2011] Amazon Prime :3.5stars:

6th October - Slaughterhouse Rulez :3.5stars:

8th October - Truth Seekers S01E01 Amazon Prime :4stars:
Truth Seekers S01E02 Amazon Prime :4stars:
