Thinking about it the main thing that's really making me angry about the show right now is just how crappy their locations are.

Okay, a lot to reply to.

That must be weird moving into someone's home and having all their pics and stuff there. I think I'd take down all the photos and personal things. Maybe throw them in the backyard.
Yeah. No shit. That's a big bonfire, man. Fuck all that.
Pretty sure you should cosplay Tom Cullen at some point.
I feel like I should be mad, but I love him so much, I just might.
Here's the other thing about Nadine and the Ouija - in the story, she's a virgin. In the book, that was a big part of her weird character. Same in the movie. She wasn't saving herself for anyone, she just had no use for it. Nadine was a big ball of oddness. Here, she's a virgin because she's been saving herself for Flagg her entire life. It kills an interesting component of her character. This Nadine isn't really nuts at all. Nadine was fucking nuts. And Flag had latched onto her in the apocalypse mainly because she was the hottest virgin, and something special because she was an adult. These are components that are now made mundane.
Oh, that's a good point! It doesn't change my mind on liking the change, but damn, I have something to think about.
The trucker they encounter... that whole scenario reminds me of something out of walking dead. For chrissakes, people aren't doing this shit. They're having dreams and anyone doing something like that would be Flagg's BFF.

I just can't. On so many levels.
I liked it for a few reasons. One, it was a surprise (and I do believe people would totally do this in an apocalypse). But it also shows what an absolute bitch Harold is and how awesome whatsherface is, the one they sent to Vegas.
AND JFC AGAIN! They were given snow patrol coats so that Harold would see the pamphlet about explosives... Because if you're a Millennial or Gen Z, you don't know how things work and can't figure shit out on your own, so you need stories that provide learning paths. They just couldn't believe that Harold would realize the county uses explosives, because they don't realize ALL counties have explosives. OMG DYNAMITE IS SCARY AND NOBODY EVER USES IT!!!!!!!!!! Fuck those bitches.
It totally throws away all the work Harold put into planning and getting everything together. It loses impact because HEY LOOK HOW EASY THIS WAS. They SHOULD have shown the work and research he did, to show how focused he was.
Yep, this movie is rushing to an end game. We don't meed Judge Farris until they pick her? And Tom Cullen has had all of 40 seconds of screen time. This is what you get when you have so far at least 2 rape scenes added just for apparent fun.
Did you see Farris' final stand yet?
Spoiler:
Neither did I. Honestly, what the fuck? That was fucking awesome when the Judge took out those fucks. I also like the original Judge more. His fake name escapes me, but I know he's really JFK.
I did kind of like their encounter with Not Shawnee Smith better, but I wish it was Shawnee Smith. But they were taking a break in a warehouse of some sort? What? Is this more cheap locations?

Is that Stephen King in the bus ad for Hemingford Home?
Agreed on Shawnee. She was better at being hateful. Like..I don't know. I can't articulate why her hate was more serious and not jokey.

And yes, that was his cameo.

And WHERE IS THE FUCKING CORN EVERYONE IS FUCKING DREAMING ABOUT SOMEONE WHO NEVER READ THE BOOK GET THE FUCK IN HERE NOW SO WE CAN READ YOUR FUCKING THOUGHTS.
Nadine just shot the weird friend. What? Why is the ski patrol in downtown Boulder? They'd be up on the mountain, especially if they were storing explosives. Why would their fake police be patrolling there? There's so much just to that scene that is WTF worthy.
This bothered me too. I mean, I'm fine with the actual shooting because it's no and different. But Nadine shooting him is problematic and against character. Nadine never did anything bad. Her goal was to get to Flagg, and that's it. She never hurt anyone herself. She might be responsible for some shit, but she manipulated. Her character in the book simply would not have done this.

Ultimately, it's a cheap way to get an emotional response. That was Hawk's pal and Nadine shot him! HAWK'S ONLY FRIEND! *GASP*

While I don't mind it, I freely admit it's very lazy.

I think their Casino set is actually an old cruise ship set. Definitely not a hotel or casino.
HOLY FUCK! I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT!!!! That's TOTALLY a cruise ship. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I didn't know that rat woman was Brad Dourif's daughter
Holy shit, I didn't know that! I liked her. I also liked when Lloyd totally threw her under the bus. I legit lol'd at that. (You might not have gotten there yet, but it's NOT a spoiler in any way shape or form. It's just something funny as shit that happens.
Okay Vegas just kind of pisses me off. This Vegas was specifically talked about in the book and it was about how this was not going to be the Vegas that they had. Pflag has a shitload of rules, he sees each of these people as a resource for him to use. People weren't just hanging out partying people were working non-stop 14 hour shifts getting shit done for him. Especially weren't killing themselves in fights and gladiatorial tournaments because they were his resources and they were not to be treated that way. Do you remember the cop who was one of Flagg's people? I believe he was someone else who did not have dreams, but chose to be there on his own. This would not have been his town, his town was the fascist work city, not the drink and do drugs all day and fuck people in elevators publicly city. The whole thing about Vegas was they were evil but they were trying to make it look prim and proper. This is what drew a lot of people in. This is actually kind of like many of the Florida towns that love Trump too
Very true. Drug users were fucking crucified. Literally. All those people partying? 100% dead in the book. He had no time for that shit. Because I distinctly remember when the first people from Boulder hit Vegas, they were surprised how orderly it was. They thought it would be exactly how this series portrayed it, but it wasn't. It was far more organized than even Boulder at that point. Flagg had his shit running smooth.

And I don't know if it's intentional, but your different spellings of Flagg is killing me.
I'm honestly not going to be happy until Flagg talks about how us truth-tellers just sort of hunker down. Furniture's for liars. On this I agree

Their walkie-talkies are driving me crazy. It's like they never heard of walkie talkies past World War II.
What do you mean by this?
So Larry won't have sex with her because of Joe? Did anyone tell Larry that Joe doesn't need to know that they had sex? That whole scene was all BS. -53 points from Hufflepuff
Holy shit, wait. WAIT!!! What happened to Lucy??? Is Lucy in this? Do I need to rewatch it? Remember in the book/first series he was shacking up with Lucy and when Nadine showed up, Lucy was fully expecting Larry to roll out? WHY IS THIS JUST DAWNING IN ME??
so the lights are on in Boulder and in Franny's house there are lamps on but there are also candles still. In the dining room where they're eating and in the kitchen there seem to be electric lights but walk out to the foyer and it's all candlepower again. How inconsistent can you be about something that major? This is seriously an asylum movie.
Could be because of conserving energy until everything is running right? Just kidding. Lazy filmmaking.
Flagg's penthouse is a lot cooler in this one
If I see him fly one more fucking time...
why the hell would she give Tom Cullen a note? My eyes almost popped out of my head they were rolling so hard.
Yeah? WTF is wrong with Tom just leaving like he fucking did in the movie/first series. She saw him in both of those and know what she did? NOTHING. Nothing at all except get mad that they sent him. That was dumb for sure.
this has all been voice to text by the way. If things don't make sense you need to figure it out yourself. Since you're not a millennial or gen z I bet you can do it
 Now the Flagg spellings are explained.

6.

I really want them to start walking to Vegas, because I think that's the only way I'm going to see anything of Ray and more of Glen.

Oh god I already hate trashcan man.

Oddly, and I wonder if it was a coincidence or a choice, but Ossie Davis and this woman Judge Farris have the same revolver, only Ossie's is blued and fake Judge Farris' is stainless. I had to google it to confirm it.

Pimp Lloyd is kinda growing on me. Not as Lloyd, but as Pimp Lloyd.

Fucking biker just said Portland Hippie. Fuck him. I know Flagg's going to kill him, so I'm not going to be too mad.

I'm noticing we're not actually seeing people get killed here. We didn't see Judge Farris get killed, just the body. And we didn't see Rita die. If we were unfamiliar with the story we wouldn't know anything about it until Larry said something about it 2 episodes later. There's probably more that I've missed.

Was that supposed to be blood on the elevator walls? It was light brown.

I don't understand why Moon ha to work in a parking garage that has barrel fires all through out it. It makes no damn sense. They have electricity. You can see the lights on in the garage. Why is it suddenly like some medieval castle? Shit like this makes me want to barf.

What's the point of Franny and Harold in the basement? Seriously.

It drives me crazy that they're examining the blowing up decision so much, and then ol' sleepy Joe goes and says something too. It's like they're trying to make Nadine and Harold remorseful or forgivable. Frustrating!

I don't understand why all the kids are at the school at night. Aside from Creepy Joe I don't remember there being any other kids. This is just ridiculous and the writers scenario-izing things that aren't necessary.

Why does he yell at them to get back and then he doesn't move? I wish everyone died. Honestly I didn't care about Nick, it was almost a relief. But why not everybody? Let Flagg take over this time. He's going to burn out and fail at some point anyway.

I'll answer your message later. I just started 7, and I'm going to watch this one without comment. Well that's not entirely true

So trashcan man going down a missile silo and chopping open the nose cone to get at the warheads:

A. No. None of that works that way.
B. There aren't any missile silos in the desert. The ground in the desert is too hard to do goofy stuff like that with. If you have an outdoor pool in Vegas it's either shallow or above ground. And yes, the Minuteman missile was developed at the test site, but they actually built an above ground missile silo, because the ground in the desert is too hard for things like that.
C. The place where we see Max Headroom get all of his warheads? Those are all over the damn place. Within the confines of the book I find it very believable that trashcan man could be somehow super naturally guided to any of those bunkers, as they are not hard to get to.

Oh my god mother Abigail's hospital room has lamps on and candles burning! What the hell are they doing here? Everything is mood lighting

Franny's trapped Stu into raising the baby with her. I'd go on a long walk to Las Vegas too.

No, don't be mad! What I'm saying is if you ever had the compulsion to cosplay or dress up like that for something, you'd nail Tom Cullen. I think you'd be great.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am I liked it for a few reasons. One, it was a surprise (and I do believe people would totally do this in an apocalypse). But it also shows what an absolute bitch Harold is and how awesome whatsherface is, the one they sent to Vegas.
In an apocalypse, laws yes. Like the Walking Dead. But this isn't the walking dead. This situation is 180 degrees in the other direction, different. Nearly everyone here has a calling. If your compulsion was to do something like set a rape trap, Flag would be all over you and you wouldn't have the chance to set rape traps because you'd be a lieutenant in Vegas. This is what I'm saying. It makes zero sense in the context of the book. Also, so far every scene they've made up deals with rape. The book isn't rapey at all. The series? Rapey as hell.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am It totally throws away all the work Harold put into planning and getting everything together. It loses impact because HEY LOOK HOW EASY THIS WAS. They SHOULD have shown the work and research he did, to show how focused he was.
Millennials and Gen Z can't do shit without google. I think that was their way of googling the info to him, because they don't understand how to figure things out, without google. They couldn't show the research, because they don't know how to do research. This is my theory anyway
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am Did you see Farris' final stand yet?
Spoiler:
Neither did I. Honestly, what the fuck? That was fucking awesome when the Judge took out those fucks. I also like the original Judge more. His fake name escapes me, but I know he's really JFK.
 The only person we've actually seen die here is Harold shooting himself. Ossie Davis rocks. They should've just CGI'd him back in instead of some old white woman. I don't think this Farris even spoke a line, did she? You just see her actions. And they last maybe 20 seconds across 3 scenes. What a throw away character.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am Agreed on Shawnee. She was better at being hateful. Like..I don't know. I can't articulate why her hate was more serious and not jokey.
Shawnee was mean, plain mean. New Shawnee's just a vapid party girl. She's Shawnee light, like Pimp Lloyd is Lloyd light. I honestly think these millennial/gen z writers don't understand mean people.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am And WHERE IS THE FUCKING CORN EVERYONE IS FUCKING DREAMING ABOUT SOMEONE WHO NEVER READ THE BOOK GET THE FUCK IN HERE NOW SO WE CAN READ YOUR FUCKING THOUGHTS.
Yeah, this makes no sense. I wish someone who had only seen this was here discussing it. I really want to know what they make of things. The corn field makes zero sense. Does she even ever say she grew up on a corn farm in NE for context? She just died, so I'm thinking not. She didn't really say a whole lot either. As far as I'm concerned these psychos found a crazy old woman and elevated her into a deity for some reason.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am This bothered me too. I mean, I'm fine with the actual shooting because it's no and different. Yep. This is just more senseless motivational BS. And if they're going to blow everyone up and split, who cares if they're seen there? They're going to be gone before anyone puts anything together and they're going to take credit for it anyways.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am HOLY FUCK! I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT!!!! That's TOTALLY a cruise ship. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
 right? The first time they show it, and Lloyd and them step out onto the balcony of their room overlooking the casino and they show it all, I believe it's totally a really old cruise ship set. Like maybe from the 80's. A lot of things were painted black or dark, but if you look at it and imagine it as brass railings and white walls, etc., the cruise ship emerges  The pool is really odd, because what casino has a pool in the middle of it? I think that clinches it was a cruise ship. I think it's an indoor set of an outdoor cruise ship deck. The casino is a cruise ship with a medieval parking garage. This is an Asylum film.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am Holy shit, I didn't know that! I liked her. I also liked when Lloyd totally threw her under the bus. I legit lol'd at that. She's grown on me as it's gone on and she's not just emceeing in the casino, but still.. what an odd part. It's like they had a list of characters that they had to find work for and they just randomly assigned people things.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am Very true. Drug users were fucking crucified. Literally. All those people partying? 100% dead in the book. He had no time for that shit. Yep. Flagg had no time for those people. They were cleaning things and fixing things up, not doing drugs in a fake cruise ship  This is what really gets me to believe that the writers really didn't understand the characters or the story here.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am And I don't know if it's intentional, but your different spellings of Flagg is killing me.
Those were intentional and had nothing to do with speech to text  I just got tired of Flagg Flagg Flagg Flagg

Their walkie-talkies are driving me crazy. It's like they never heard of walkie talkies past World War II.
What do you mean by this?
Those walkie talkies are HUGE, have collapsible metal whip antennas, and take 8 AA batteries, as seen on the show. That puts them probably as 70's, maybe even 80's toy walkie talkies. These are the ones you'd see in the Sears or Radio Shack catalog for $99 and you'd know they were serious business because they were HUGE, had HUGE whip antennas and took a shitload of batteries.

For the last 30 years, pretty much any radio like that is going to be about 6"x2"x1.5", have a LiON type rechargeable battery and a 4" rubber antenna. Basically they'll be about the size of an early 2000's Nokia phone, but a bit thicker. I'm thinking this is also a cost thing. Like they rented cheap, old props. They're kind of the cruise ship casino of the walkie talkie world  Anyway, it's fucking driving me nuts.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am Holy shit, wait. WAIT!!! What happened to Lucy??? Is Lucy in this? Do I need to rewatch it? Lucy's totally in this. She walked by once and someone said Hi Lucy or something like that. Honestly, that was it. She was Farrised out too. Lucys cost money. I'm honestly seeing all of this as low budget nonsense now. This looks like an Asylum movie. If it didn't have some of the star power in it that it does, I think this would 100% be an Asylum version of the Stand. I also wonder if a lot of the budget went to those stars, so now we're dealing with remade cruise ships, fake sewers, and the characters who only get mentioned by name. I bet this cost less than the original miniseries, and I don't mean even by inflationary standards.
Alien Redrum wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:31 am Could be because of conserving energy until everything is running right? Just kidding. Lazy filmmaking.
I wonder if it's laziness or going for a certain atmosphere? It's ridiculous. We've all been in hospitals. There's not going to be mood lighting in Abigail's room. There certainly wouldn't be 100000 candles for no reason. It would be lit up bright white like any other hospital room.

Exactly. I don't get some of these decisions. If she knew who Tom was, she would know he couldn't read. And as much as I like Tom, he basically has 1 line in this movie so far and it's getting annoying. I hope it gets better. Tom could talk about things, discuss things. All this Cullen can do is recite his memorized speech from Miss Sykes. I find it borderline offensive too. My sister in law is special needs. Special needs people don't work that way. It's like they don't believe Tom would recognize people he's seen before, because he just recites the same thing over and over.

Lucys cost money.
I keep laughing at this. I don't know why, but it's making me laugh and laugh.

Regarding the cruise ship, you're right. You're so fucking right. Listen, Tom isn't working wherever the fuck he's supposed to be working. He's in the bottom of that unused cruise ship. They gutted it out and used it. This fucking show had two sets. A cruise ship and some out door scenes no doubt at the same place.

Speaking of money, the more I think about it, the more I think you're right. They didn't go ALL OUT becuase this was for their fucking app, not for the actual real TV. I bet you a real budget that if Netflix or Hulu or HBO had done this, they would have thrown ALL KINDS of money at it. But CBS didn't feel the need to because most of their audience watches them on TV. They did this to appeal to people to subscribe to the channel, but didn't feel like investing too much. You're right. It's The Asylum's Stand.

And, man, you're so right about Cullen. Remember when Nick first met him, he had all of the dummies setup like a party? He was not a one trick pony, and what pisses me off is the actor portraying him is SO FUCKING GOOD in the role. He's being robbed of an amazing performance and we were robbed of more of him performing.

I get you now about the walkie talkies. It would be the equivalent of this if they used cell phones:

Image

It's still weird. I still will watch this again. I'm still not hating it.

It's like Swan Song. We picked it apart so much. But I'm going to read and enjoy it again at some point.

Yeah, I think you nailed it. This wasn't a project for CBS, this was an enticement to subscribe. And yeah, Netflix, Hulu, etc. would've thrown money at this.

I think that's kind of what pisses me off about it. The devil's in the details, right? The details here are terrible.

The more I think about it, the more confounding it is to me. If a CBS sitcom goes to vegas, they get a fake hotel and a fake casino set. Where were those here? Why do we get a cruise ship and a parking garage? How is a boiler room with pipes supposed to be a control room for a dam? CBS doesn't have a generic 'control room' set hanging around? Sure they don't. If Big Bang Theory can make a more realistic casino than The Stand... something's fucked up.

I think you're right and they spent money on licensing and celebs and advertising, because this was all an ad. And no money was needed for production as once all those other things drew people in to subscribe, they could be disappointed and it didn't matter because they already spent their money. And you know what? Watching it like you did, week by week, I bet I wouldn't have noticed half of this. Streaming 2-3 eps a night though, pausing to comment here, that gives a lot of time to notice the problems.

And yeah, Swan's Song. That's about right, I think

I'm doing research on the production. I haven't found any solid numbers. Apparently they paid Shooter Jennings and Marilyn Manson to do a Doors cover, but then couldn't actually afford to use it. So, that tells us something there. Wiki refers to it as a "tight budget".

The original Stand had a $28 million budget. Adjusting that for inflation from 1994, it would be equal to about $49 million today. I'm betting they spent nowhere near $49 million here. It was also all shot in Vancouver BC (If I'd known I'd just go across the bridge and told them what they were doing wrong).

And there's an old screenrant article that doesn't say much but Stephen King promises it will have a much bigger budget than the original, and show a lot more violence. I bet they sold him a bill of goods here to get him to sign on. Is that why his cameo just became a photo in an ad you probably won't notice? That "a lot more violence" really never appeared either. The violence has been:

Lloyds robbery
Truck Rape
Harold shooting himself

Everything else has been self-edited out, like Rita's suicide or Judge Farris.

I haven't been able to find anything on the budget. I did find that the 1994 version was one of the most expensive miniseries ever made. So yeah, I really don't think this one comes close. And I'm betting that a lot of the people in this are here due to contractual agreements with Paramount.

Okay, not to make light of your thoughtful reply, I can't stop giggling at:
(If I'd known I'd just go across the bridge and told them what they were doing wrong).

When you get to the second to the last episode, some pretty cool violence happens. But these motherfuckers didn't even show the Judge situation. Fuck that "more violence" bullshit. If it was glossed over, that's one thing. But to totally not show a fucking thing? Fuck you.

And what sucks more? I like that actor they pulled in for fucking up. The one that gave Phlagg the finger.

I'm about to start the second to last episode. I'm going to finish it tonight. While I was looking for budget info I kept seeing articles from a couple of years ago about how awesome this was going to be and how they were going all out to make this. I wonder if something changed. But then most of those articles were falling over themselves to tell you what a huge King fan the director is, and how he's going to do this justice and nobody knows this story better than him.

Ep. 8

Watching the recap from the previous episode and have to rant again. The nose cone of a Minuteman missile holds 10 warheads, I believe. each warhead is going to weigh about 2400lbs. Minuteman missiles are what shoot out of underground silos, which is why I'm using that. They're also about 3x larger than the missile that Trashcan Man somehow nabbed. So let's pretend that he found some super duper secret underground missile that nobody really knows about outside of the USAF. That nose cone is still going to weigh at least 4000lbs if it holds only 1 warhead. We are supposed to believe that Trashcan Man has Hulk like strength capable of hefting 2 tons easily. Ware are supposed to believe that he has some kind of super duper dune buggy that can carry that sized load. This is just the beginning of the ridiculousness I'm being asked to believe in with this series. I just want everyone to know.

In the other series and the book, Nadine was ashamed of herself and her pregnancy. I guess not here.

I like Glen in jail. He tells it like it is. I think it works for him. But since 'jail' is a chain link pen in a hotel conference room, did they really need the orange jumpsuits? Are those there to make it look more convincing? Did they only get 1 prison set and so they used it for Lloyd? BTW, I think Lloyd's prison is a set that gets used a lot. It's basically a bunch of cells on just one side and a wall on the other. I've seen that set up multiple times when they were walking a prisoner in a movie. I want to say that's the same place they walked Catwoman in Dark Night Returns. One of the 'newer' Terminators also use it, I think. But it's been years since I've seen it. I think Christian Bale is in that one too

WTF is this court? Why? Just why? And why is Florida Pimp Lloyd wearing DJ's barrister wig?

I've decided he's Florida Pimp Lloyd. Do you watch the Niecy Nash show Claws? He seems like he'd be part of Uncle Daddy's family.

Having Lloyd do the temptation is stupid and worthless. There's no power there. They're not confronting Flagg like they do in the prison.

And I'm pretty sure Flagg wants them alive, so I don't think Lloyd or anyone else is going to shoot one of them in court.

And they Put Ray and Larry in the kitchen handcuffed to the grill? What happened to their chain link pen?

Nadine looks like a Morlock. It was nice of Larry to shout for help for her. I wouldn't have.

Out of all the people in Vegas, Rat Woman is the most qualified to birth Nadine's demon baby? This is one of the things I'd tip Flagg off about. And honestly, if Flagg was real, I would like to talk to him.

She fell out the casino window and landed in the cruise ship's pool

Ha! Rat Woman says she's the entertainment director on this cruise.

I feel like this scene when they're all chanting make them pay is from a Trump rally.

I like how they had to specially pipe the water in because the fake pool has no plumbing

Still waiting for all this SUPER VIOLENCE!
- Glen shot in the shoulder
- Nadine out the window (we didn't see her hit)
- ????

I don't like that they're abandoning him. It's dumb. And WTF is Trashan actually driving? it's like a supermarket thing.

Okay the lightning was cool. Was that all the violence we were supposed to be happy about? I don't know if I call that violence. Lloyd just got nailed in the head by a giant onion ring, and I will call that violence. It was really bad CGI violence though

Instead of doing a CGI vegas detonation scene, they took an old scifi movie detonation scene and restored it. This is the one when you see it from the desert and it's got all of the desert plants around it for some reason. I'm betting this was also due to their "tight budget"

And no, you couldn't see a nuclear bomb from Vegas in Boulder. Not at all. No way  This has been proven as nobody saw all of the ones done in the 50s' and 60's.

Joe's had more lines than about half the characters.

That head slicing is pretty cool though. And I also like how Flphlagggggg looked pretty bored with the whole thing towards the end.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

9.

I guess they did show Nadine hit, according to the recap. Bully for them.

Franny's baby is not 6lbs. It's like 10lbs and a year old.

They broke out the booze they'd been hording? There was booze enough on the planet for 7.3 billion people, I think there wasn't a lot of need to hoard.

Franny's whole narration here seems like it would make a lot more sense if it was written 20 years after the other episode.

I'm assuming CCR doesn't charge much for Green River. And why are they line dancing to it?

Steven King is obsessed with the 4th of July, big Gazebos and town celebrations with both. He repeats this over and over in his stories.

I'd bet that truck was a loan from a dealer, and I'm pretty sure that camper on the back of it that didn't fit at all was a craigslist special.

I love that they show them in Nebraska, and there's a mountain behind them

Don't tell me this is Mother Abigail's house or something. Please don't tell me that. Tell me it's just a coincidence.

Stephen King likes throwing white ladies down boarded up wells too.

I hate this whole thing, but I do like that Flagg's back fucking with her for no apparent reason. Was this King's way of bring cornfields back into it? Did he read the script and go, this doesn't' make any sense and try to fix it with this episode?

So we don't get to see Tom and Stu come back? Tom never gets his chance to shine?

This episode makes me want to through Stephen King down a well.

They missed their opportunity for a sequel by not having Flagg run off with the baby at the end.

Every time Stephen King has a movie film in Maine they give him a million dollars. That's the only thing I can think of that would make him write this episode.

The end with Flagg and the natives makes perfect sense. It's really the only part of this series that does. That's the kind of thing he does and I'm glad they showed that. He's one of my favorite characters, I think.

True

I did enjoy this series. I'll watch it again sometime maybe. But between the two series... I think I have to stick with the first one just because it was truer to the story, had a better cast, and better production values. This had a good cast too, but the other two things dragged it down. No production values and farther from the story. But I do like it for what it is. It had heart. It tried. Everybody did a good job with what they were give. This Flagg was better, as was this Glen.
