Just my luck .............. GD Cat puked on my receiver....

Post by Peter West »

I just came home a little while ago from physical therapy and turned on my TV and receiver and heard a loud pop and the receiver was blinking......... Looked on top of it and turned it off right away...... One of my cats (think it was Dahlia, she only eats dry food) had puked on the receiver...... Took off the top and found it full of cat fur and dust, cleaned that all out. Of course this was my 59TXi receiver she puked on. Found a local place that can fix it, going to need my neighbor's kid though to help me lift the thing to my car since I'm still messed up from the surgery....

And how was your day......... :bananasex:

Got the repair estimate, around $450 bucks, it may be worse. I am gonna let them try to fix it, it the repair is more involved I will only be out $60.....

Sucks.............

$450? Ouch! I hope you're taking it out of Dahlia's allowance.

I would be pissed as hell, but that aside I would also shoot for trying to repair it. Did you try reaching Pioneer to see what they would have charged?

I toyed around with the idea of selling mine and going with seperates but I am just unsure of how much sound quality I could gain over this monster of a receiver?
