After knocking out The Wire, I stuck with the B'more theme and rolled into Homicide (made especially easy by the stellar deal I got on the entire series ).
I had always heard this was good, but never gave it a go. I should have. Aside from it being well written, there are some great cameos. Sure you have your Wire and Oz people popping in (no surprise), but Steve Buscemi showing up immediately followed by a John Waters cameo is solid.
If you have never seen it and like cop shows, I'd easily recommend it.

Re: Homicide
I refuse to watch any Baltimore cop show unless Joe Ripple makes an appearance.
Because AR doesn't take my posts seriously

Re: Homicide
This isn't supposed to be known, but the whole show is based on Joe Ripple's experiences in the Baltimore PD. In fact, Det. Munch was supposed to be Det. Ripple, but when Belzer refused to grow a mustache they had to change the name.
Belzer has been quoted as saying he "could never grow a 'stache as powerful and macho as Joe Ripple's."

It all makes sense now.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan
