Now that I have a daughter, I see that movie as a real horror movie. And way too realistic.LivingDeadGirl wrote:I watched "Thirteen". Fairly good movie. Not fantastic, but okay. Being a teenager sure has changed since the past 14 years since I was that age.
What did you just watch (non-horror)?

Kids was worse and that was made, what a decade earlier? And I was surrounded by a lot more drugs and crime in my teen years.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Oh bite me! Most of my teen years were spent in WI and NY in rural small towns where the worst drug I knew of was shrooms.

Re: What did you just watch (non-horror)?
I remember when Columbine happened, what was that, '98?
One of my buddies at the paper said something about if we had black-trenchcoat-wearing kids at my school, and if I was scared they'd kill me.
I was like, "Dude, they were my friends."
The mere thought of trying to have "the talk" with my kid(s) someday already scares the crap out of me, and I don't even have any yet.

I love how everyone forgets The Boomtown Rats.

For the record, I'm nineteen, and I didn't know anyone in high school that acted like the girls in that movie.LivingDeadGirl wrote:I watched "Thirteen". Fairly good movie. Not fantastic, but okay. Being a teenager sure has changed since the past 14 years since I was that age.
Thirteen is one of the few films I just can't watch again because I really feel compelled to smack the living shit out of everyone involved.
Back on topic, I went to the theater and saw Doubt. One of the year's best, easily.

Just saw The Curious Case of Benjamen Button, one of the few flicks I've seen in the theater lately. Surprisingly good. Sort of like Forrest Gump with a supernatural twist. Definitely a departure for David Fincher.
