DREDD

Post by walls »

Another $7 blu find at Family Video... and as it turns out ... a damn good one. Carl Urban was awsome as Dredd, the woman that played the drug lord was good.

This is not the campy/feel good Stallone Dredd, this is the dark/bloody/violent Dredd I have been waiting for!

Worth a rental for sure.

And not one time did Dredd yell "I am the law!" LOL!

I definitely need to see this. Seems everyone I know who has seen it has liked it.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

You will like it, on a side note I also watched the third Transformers....awsome eye and ear candy but the movie is absolutely fucking dreadful.

Awesome, I'll check this out. I could never make it through the Stallone/Schneider movie.

Brilliant film, I loved it. Reminded me of Robocop in its cartoonish ultraviolence. Urban is great and kudos for him in keeping to character and never taking his helmet off (unlike Stallone's vanity where the 'big star' had to have his face seen.)

Well he doesn't yell anything, he growls most of it, but there's the part where he says:
In case you have forgotten, this block operates under the same rules as the rest of the city. Ma-Ma is not the law... I am the law.

I loved Dredd. It definitely does the original comic justice. It is all I wanted it to be - Urban is fantastic as Dredd, and I second what DJ says.

It does look a bit too much as The Raid:Redemption, but that is not exactly a bad thing, either.

I couldn't believe just how good it was & I really hope they decide to make a sequel.
