An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn

Post by Neon Maniac »

This is currently on Netflix and it stars about half the people in that vampire show you guys like. Thought you might want to know. It's made by the same guy who made Greasy Strangler, and is basically the same as the Greasy Strangler minus the Greasy and the Strangling. I only know this because about 30 seconds into the movie I thought to myself, the dialog, costuming, sets, and overall tone seem to be exactly like Greasy Strangler so I IMDb'd it.

The star power is much bigger in this movie than Greasy Strangler, it has real actors in it. Along with your vampire people it stars Craig Robinson and Aubrey Plaza.

Hmm, not sure what I will think of this based on the trailer. But I may give it a chance.

Honestly I'm not sure what you'll think of it either. I'm not sure what I think of it. If you've seen Greasy Strangler, you're likely to think about the same, I think. If you haven't, then that's part of the adventure. I think Jim Hosking is trying to be the thrift shop Wes Anderson and it's not really working, but what he does do is interesting in a certain way. I don't want to live in his worlds and I don't want to know the people in his movies.

This is a lot more accessible than Greasy Strangler. I'd watch this and if you like it, then give GS a shot. Be prepared to cringe and be repulsed with GS though.
