I don't think I ever read anything that was related to this show. I'm also not a big fan of Timothy Olyphant or Walton Goggins. I tried to watch it once when it came out and was completely underwhelmed and never visited it again. I'm also annoyed by people who wear cowboy hats. The hat thing isn't enough to make me skip the show, it's just one more strike against it. One day I will give it another chance.

The first series, Justified was based off Leonard's book, Fire in the Hole (but there are three others).

The second series (this new one) Justified: City Primeval was based on City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit. HOWEVER, that book doesn't have Raylan Gibbons (Timmy Olyphant). It's another character, but they worked it to make Gibbons fit. I LOVED this season and since I never read the book, I can't wait to now. It will be the same but different.

When done well (Out of Site, Jackie Brown, 3:10 to Yuma, tons more), Leonard's stuff is AWESOME on screen. I'll die on the hill that Tarintino should just direct Elmore Leonard books. He doesn't have an original idea anyway, so just use the absolute best source.

I just checked and I actually bought City Primeval when it went on sale to promote the series! YEAH!

Also, interestingly enough, looking up the info for this reply (I couldn't remember how many books there were about Raylan), in one of the books, Raylan crosses paths with Karen Sisco from Out of Sight. NICE.

Yeah, if you don't like the two main actors, you're going to suffer in hell.

I LOVE Goggins. Olyphant I can take or leave, but he's really perfect for this character. (But if you don't like him, you don't like him. I get it.)

Either one of them I can take in small doses. Like if they're in a movie, it won't stop me from watching it. But a series is just too much.
