The Fog

Post by Neon Maniac »

This movie rocks. I'm watching this on Shudder (ugh) right now. And there are odd future connections with the actors. In a couple of years Adrienne Barbeau and Hal Holbrook will be not the young hotty mom and the aged priest, but a married couple of roughly the same age. Jamie Lee Curtis hadn't done Halloween 2 yet when she made this, and Tom Atkins would star in the totally unrelated 3.

I love the audio commentaries in this movie, with Carpenter and Hill explaining every trick. The Fog is a very cheap film made with a lot of creativity

I don't think I'd call it "very cheap". It's budget was at least a million, with the average horror film of the time being made for around $250,000. Halloween had a budget of $300,000 and was just done 3 years earlier.
