Paranormal Activity 3

Post by Alien Redrum »

Nice trailer. I really hope that last part isn't one of the best in the movie.

I saw Catfish and really dug it. I thought it was a real documentary, but the more I read, the more I think that it might be faked. If it is a fake, then damn, I have high hopes for Paranormal Activity 3.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

That looks pretty good. I though 2 was better than the first.

What's Catfish?

Catfish is a documentary the guys made about how one of them meets this girl online and when he goes to meet her, things get really fucked up.

I don't know if you'd like it. I think you'd either really like it or call me an asshole for recommending it. So I'm not recommending it to you. If you do see it, though, do NOT look at anything related to it. It's best to go in completely blind, I promise you.

Without having seen Catfish, and going solely on everything I've heard about it, it seems like a fake. I will see it eventually, but the story seems whatever.

The documentary is really good if you know nothing about it at all going in.

But once you know the story, it is pretty blah.

Here is my question...
Spoiler:
How could you go into watching a doc about an online relationship and not expect the online person to be someone other than what they said. Granted, my first thought is a dude. So maybe that's the shocker, that it's not a middle aged dude?

I just can't see how this is interesting. Which is why I am curious enough to see it.

Spoiler:
See, I didn't even know that going in. I just knew dude was going to meet someone he met online and it was bad. TBH, I thought it was a horror movie..

It's not a dude. I can tell you if you want.

Here's what's odd, though. Everything I've read leads me to believe it was faked. However, why fake it like this? I mean, it's not even mind blowing.

It's like making a documentary about buying a car, and you end up buying the car. But in reality, you faked it and didn't buy the car. Why go through all that effort?

Spoiler:
I know part of the spoiler. It's like a housewife in a bad situation or something, right? And she made up some of the people involved.

The things I have read/heard are that it's far too convenient that all the key moments to move the story along are on camera and such.

Yeah, you nailed it on both counts. That's what makes me question why bother. It's not a spectacular thing to fake, but at the same time, it could have very easily been faked.

They seemed to be not as good as they went on. I think they only kept making them because they were so cheap and quick to make.

They tried to keep them somewhat interesting, but overall they felt like cash grabs. Fun enough though.
