Re: What are you reading?
Finished The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker. Awesome book. Beautiful descriptive writing. Already one of my favorites.
Went ahead and picked up Barker's The Inhuman Condition because I was so impressed.

Re: What are you reading?
Finished this the other day. I thought it was OK, but it lost a ton of steam by the end. It started off strong and then just meandered into a Dean Koontz ending.Spez wrote:I'm reading this now too. I'll have to come back to read all the spoiler tags.Sham wrote:Finished Desperation by Stephen King. Really surprised by this one. Gets right into it, which I wasn't expecting from a King novel. The ending's a little rushed, but it's a solid book overall.

That's a perfect way to describe my thoughts on it too.

Re: What are you reading?
Finished Barker's The Inhuman Condition.
Title story was pretty good; Revelations! and Down, Satan! were just okay; The Age of Desire was probably the weirdest, but most interesting.
But the overall best story, hands down, was The Body Politic. Awesome idea that's just begging to be a full-length movie (and no, Idle Hands doesn't count).

Sedaris makes me cry.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

My wife loves his books. I've never read any. I don't know if that's good or bad.

Re: What are you reading?
I loved that one. That's the only one I've read. I'm afraid to read more and be disappointed.

Re: What are you reading?
Read Santaland Diaries. It's short and it's hillarious. It's about the season he was an elf at Macy's in Herald Square. It should be on the server.

Finished Born Standing Up by Steve Martin.
Really good memoir. Funny, enlightening, touching, and often sad for a story about success and fame. Thumbs up from me.

Re: What are you reading?
I'm just starting Jim Butcher's Grave Peril. It's book #3 in the Harry Dresden books. I'm enjoying this series so far. It's way better than the Dresden Files TV show. The first book was great, the second not as good but still entertaining. Highly reccomended so far. No opinion on the current one yet.
