Just watched this and all I can say is that this was a huge piece of shit. WTF? Kevin Smith had gotten bad, but I didn't realize he'd gotten this bad. And there was supposed to be some kind of controversy about this movie? Was the controversy that it sucked shit and made very little sense?

I'm very curious to see how Smith handles a horror film.

That's why I finally got around to watching this on Netflix. And you know what? It wasn't a horror film, not at all. It was kind of a rip off of several real life incidents all stuck together.

The movie will suck, like the majority of his output.

Jersey Girl was mediocre.

Compared to Red State, Jersey Girl was a mother truckin' masterpiece.

Clerks/Clerks 2: Loaded with hobgoblins
Mall Rats: Hobgoblin free
Chasing Amy: Small hobgoblins, you barely notice them.*
Zach and Miri: It's got one hobgoblin, but it's a huge one and it eats your face.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back: hobgoblins, but you expect them so they're part of the party. They do wear on though.
Dogma: Almost escaped the hobgoblins, but Jay and Silent Bob brought their own.
Jersey Girl: Tempted to say it's hobgoblin free, but the whole movie is a hobgoblin so it fools you.


*All the hobglins in Chasing Amy are chased away by Black Power!

After watching the trailer I'm a bit confused, doesn't look much like a horror movie, thriller maybe, but not horror. I'll still watch it because I do like Kevin Smith films and so I'll give it a shot.

I'll make my own decision about whether it's silly or not, you don't care for Kevin Smith, I do, therefore it's possible that I may enjoy it. I really disagreed with everything you said about his movies, I think they are hilarious.
