Dampyr

Post by Mairosu »

From the same publisher which brought us Dylan Dog (Sergio Bonelli Editore), I present you Dampyr, the new horror comic sensation in Europe. Well, OK, it's not exactly "fresh" (been running for 8 years), but of late it got serbo-croatian translations and has been a quick seller in these parts (traditionally, old Yugo countries are the biggest Bonelli export markets).

Dampyr is a story of Harlan Draka, a half-man half-vampire, who is born and raised somewhere in the Balkans (although comics never say where it very much looks like Bosnia to me) without the true knowledge of his ancestry. Once grown up, Harlan realizes his powers by accident and starts a worldly conquest to rid the civilization of legions of the undead, who have taken root in every corner of Earth. Harlan is accompanied on his travels by Wolf, a mercenary from Harlan's homeland who abandoned warfare in favour of Harlan's quest, and Tesla, a female vampire who turned back on her masters.

Dampyr has been released in US in limited quantities, and at stupid prices. So, in order for the rest of you to be able to enjoy it, head on to the shack...
