Well, according to your theory (that sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not), "...that upstairs has decided that it's time for the old ones to arise again, and have used their influence to make the sacrifices fail."
The Japanese did their part, but the entire world will suffer because of the power failure. Are you saying that we (being the entire world) were doomed from the beginning because the upstairs was going to release downstairs no matter what?

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

I'm not sure what you mean by the Japanese doing their part. The Japanese failed like everyone else. The 9 year old girls trapped the floaty girl's soul in the frog, and everyone lived.
So all the sacrifices failed, which means the old ones rise.

No, don't sleep on it. Get it out!
I really don't know what you mean about the Japanese. Is there something I'm missing there?

If there is, I'm missing it too because I see the Japanese failure in exactly the same way.Neon Maniac wrote:I really don't know what you mean about the Japanese. Is there something I'm missing there?

By the way, DJ. Do you know who Ben Cohen is? The rugby guy? I had to hang out with him yesterday for a few hours and be his 'handler' for most of the day. I told him I'd probably be pretty excited if I gave a rats ass about rugby and this must be like getting to hang out Joe Namath. He said it was okay, he'd never heard of me before either.

I think what you mean is, you thought the Japanese hadn't failed but now you're trying to cover up the fact by backpedaling.Alien Redrum wrote:Let me buy it, watch it again, get my shit together and explain what the fuck I mean.

I still think this movie is vastly overrated.

I actually was confused on that first go around because they were screaming "FUCK YOU!" to them, like they were mad and I was confused on why they were mad, but then I got it that they were mad because they succeeded.
Which I guess leads to another kind of question, if there's one supreme good (upstairs) and one supreme bad (downstairs), why different rules? Asian horror films quite obviously have different rules than US ones.

I liked Cabin in the Woods when it was still just a shack. Although you probably never heard of that.
