GTFO (Able Team auction)
I picked up a few Able Teams this weekend at my favorite used book store. #2 - 6. Paid a buck each.
So I need to get #1 naturally before I start them. I went to ebay and saw this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Able-Team-Book ... SwuBdgDOzp
#1 - 51 for...wait for it... $180! Plus an additional $16 for ECONOMY shipping.
Fuck right off. Too bad they didn't have an offer button. I'd off him $30 and $10 shipping.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Re: GTFO (Able Team auction)
That's about $7/book. Wow. When I see things like that, I really wonder what people are thinking. Is this really someone thinking they have a gold mine? I really wish they had a best offer button

Right!
While I don't see these all the time in used bookstores, they aren't that rare at all. These were mass produced for grocery stores and airports maybe?
Heck, the books in Paperbacks from Hell are far more rare.

Re: GTFO (Able Team auction)
Yeah these are all for grocery stores, airports, drugstores, basically any place that had a spinning wire rack of books back then. I bought one at a 7-11 once. They also came in the mail via a book club if you were awesome like me. I think I had like four months of it and then my dad stopped paying it but I never got another one. And he was like oh geez I don't know.

Re: GTFO (Able Team auction)
7-11's here would always have spinning rack of books and a spinning rack of comics, and they'd both be by the spinning plastic rack of Legg's pantyhose. It was like the spinning rack section

Re: GTFO (Able Team auction)
At my neighborhood 7-11 they crammed the spinning racks into the corner and they'd put the comics between the Leggs and the books. Sometimes they'd cram them too close and if you tried to look at comics they'd knock eggs off of the rack. That was very embarrassing if you were a young male child.

It's ok if you wanted to try them on Neon. We don't judge.

I think they stopped the eggs in the 80s.
I remember making easter decorations with them in school.

Re: GTFO (Able Team auction)
That's hilarious.
Three's Company used to drive me crazy because all the women would be wearing shorts but then wearing pantyhose with them. It looks terrible and was very odd. It turns out Joyce DeWitt had a contract with L'eggs and so every woman on the show had to wear pantyhose no matter what.
