Terrortory II will always get five stars because I'm in it.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Terrortory only gets four stars because I'm not in it but my car is.

So I watched The Price We Pay on a screener, which was something I caught at Grimmfest last year. Still fun, a gravel-voiced Stephen Dorff co-leading a cast of pawn-heist thieves who hide out on a farm where it's harvest time, but not the harvest you might expect. Directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train, No One Lives, Downrange) with plenty of bloody set pieces.
Also watched Dead Snow 2, which was the first rewatch for a while. My daughter and I had watched the first film a week or so ago as she was looking for a zombie movie that she might not have heard of. Naturally we had to follow up with the sequel. I'd forgotten what a riotously good time this one is. No punches pulled for who gets killed, I like that.

ohhhhhhhhh, I really liked Midnight Meat Train. It seems like no one ever talks about that one.
I need to watch both Dead Snows at some point. Maybe this month.

Have you watched it recently? The CGI blood looks really obvious these days.Alien Redrum wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 4:50 pm ohhhhhhhhh, I really liked Midnight Meat Train. It seems like no one ever talks about that one.
You should! Put them on your list. I think you'll dig them.Alien Redrum wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 4:50 pm I need to watch both Dead Snows at some point. Maybe this month.

Barbarian (2022) Holy shit this was fucking terrible. I know a lot of people really like this but it is so not a well made movie. So many bad decisions were made by the characters, just shows such a lack of writing ability. Nobody would be as stupid as the people are in this movie in any way shape or form. And the BABBABABBAAABBAABBAAABBABAAA scene in the oubliette. GTFO! THis is a horror-comedy right?

I've decided not to do the challenge, it's just too much this year. I'm watching what I want to when I want to how I want to and more importantly dress how I want to, including not at all. But I am going to come in here and drop a recommendation of watching Totally Killer on Amazon. It's a fun movie, it's a goofy movie and it's also a scary movie. Don't complain to me if you don't like it.

This is the worst year ever for me. I've been so damn busy and I'm bummed because I love this time.
I have been watching Hannibal lately. I've never finished the series, so I started from scratch. It's SO BEAUTIFUL.

Does anyone know anything about John Carpenter's Suburban Screams on Peacock? Worth watching?

No. I'm not a subscriber. Only the first one is free, so I may end up watching it at some point.shiki-jitsu wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2023 5:35 pm

I'm not participating in the challenge this year because I don't feel like keeping track of everything I'm watching. Feeling kinda lazy this year. But I highly recommend Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix. Also, The Fall of the House of Usher. Both excellent series.

I always seem to forget how much fun Shaun of the Dead is. I never forget, though, to pretend like it's a story about RomCom DAN and me during the apocalpyse, and all of Dan's friends hate me because I'm ruining his life.
