One of us! One of us!
I make no secret on how I feel about Criterion's pricing, but hot damn, am I excited to watch this. It came in yesterday and has TWO additional movies by Browning that I have never seen.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Re: One of us! One of us!
So this went on sale today at Amazon for $35. I asked them if they'd refund the difference of $15 (I paid $50 like 3 weeks ago). They said they are already competitive, so no. So I'm all, "I can just buy it again." And they're all, "Yeah, you can."
So I basically put in for a refund, ordered a new one, it comes tomorrow, I pick it up from my mailbox and take it over to the UPS store like 1/2 mile from my house.
lol
WTF

I think the best way to buy criterions if that is what you're into is just waiting for Criterion to have a sale. Second to that is watching when Barnes & Noble has criterions on sale. Amazon can go fuck themselves.

Yeah the BN sale started today. Amazon usually will price them comparably if not undercut sometimes.

I went to Best Buy last night to check and see if they got the display of cheap 4K Blu-rays in yet, and that's EXACTLY what they did. (They didn't have them yet, and acted like I was a dipshit for looking for physical media. )

Re: One of us! One of us!
BB's getting rid of physical media. The only people who want it are collectors. Everyone else is fine with buying digital on their roku. I have to admit that about a decade ago when Walmart was pushing Vudu and offering Blurays with a free digital code I used to buy them, redeem the code on Vudu, and then sell the disc on ebay for about the same price I bought it for. Usually maybe a $2-3 loss, so a cheap purchase as far as I'm concerned.
When I was moving into my own apartment about 11 years ago, I asked a guy I worked with who was in his early 20's where a good place to get a CD/DVD rack was, he asked me why I'd want CDs. I've never looked at physical media the same again. Nope. 2 interstate moves with a huge dvd collection made me never want to do it again ever.
With some exceptions, I'm pretty much all digital now.
