I was reminiscing and watching some episodes on YouTube and wrote a LJ entry cataloging all my favorite episodes from all seven seasons. Found out some interesting stuff in my little endeavor, like I didn't know that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Hanks directed episodes.
Anyone have a favorite episode they'd like to share?

Tales from the Crypt
Everything I love about horror can be found on MY TUMBLR.
Re: Tales from the Crypt
My favorite episode that no one really likes or remembers is actually from season one. It's the one about an old man who, after retiring, is treated like a dog by his animal-obsessed wife. The episode's called Collection Completed. It's just so funny and odd and creepy to me. Whether or not it's the funniest or scariest episode is insignificant. For me, it just gets everything right.
Other favorite episodes:
Dead Right (Season 2)
Demi Moore plays a greedy bitch who marries a morbidly obese man in hopes of inheriting his fortune. The problem is, even he hasn't inherited it yet.
Judy, You're Not Yourself Today (Season 2)
Carol Kane plays a woman who switches bodies with a nasty gypsy and must convince her husband of her true identity.
Top Billing (Season 3)
Jon Lovitz stars as a struggling actor who takes a role in a play, completely unaware of his character's morbid significance.
Death of Some Salesmen (Season 5)
A salesman visits the country home of a murderous family (all of whom are played by Tim Curry) who, wouldn't you know it, collect salesmen.
Those are a few, but most of my favorites come from the fourth season. Pick any random one from there and you're bound to like it.

And All Through the House (season 1) is a pretty fantastic episode.
Cutting Cards (season 2) with Lance F. Henricksen
Yellow (season 3) - Kirk Douglas (companion piece to Paths of Glory)
There are more of course, but these 3 stick out... The series was pretty fantastic when it was strong.
It grew stale (as most things do) but the final British season was pretty cool. Nice to see the Hammer guys taking a shot.

Death of Some Salesman is one of my favorites out of the entire series, along with the episode with Morton Downey, Jr.

Re: Tales from the Crypt
I've been going PSYCHO over this show the past 6 months about.
We talked about "Cold War." I liked it, I don't think you did.
HEY, IT'S YOU!!! Your bxrbxbx or whatever from the IMBb.com - aren't you?! You're the user who really likes "Strung Along" and "This'll Kill Ya," and who really doesn't like "Dead Right."LivingDeadGirl wrote:I was reminiscing and watching some episodes on YouTube and wrote a LJ entry cataloging all my favorite episodes from all seven seasons.

Re: Tales from the Crypt
The series was originally envisioned as a trilogy story feature film. This was changed to a television program, because the producers feared it would bomb as a movie, as trilogy-style horror movies rarely had success at the box-office.
