The Taking of Pelham 123

Post by freakmagnet »

Saw this Saturday night and really liked it. Although I did spend most of the movie thinking, "You KNOW they're not going to live through this and actually get the money." A little formulatic in that respect. But there was enough action to keep your mind off of it.

Overall, good popcorn flick.

You should see the original if you haven't. I don't know how it compares to the new one, but I know I really dug the original.

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Original is one of the most fun 70s action flicks - and massive performances from Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw. Shaw really embodies evil as mr. Blue there. Balsam and Jerry Stiller have amusing side roles as well.

Even in Broken Arrow ? He was pretty rough for the senses there.

Haven't seen the remake. The original was great. The ending was funny.
