I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

Thanks for setting this up, Alien Redrum.

I can highly recommend "Hatchet." I must add, though, that I have only seen the uncut version. The gore is awesome. On several occasions, I had to laugh at the lines, the situations and the behavior of the characters. The character selection deserves a mention in particular, next to the gore and the story surrounding the killer, Victor Crawley.

Hated this movie, mainly because of the ridiculous notion that it's a return to "old school horror."

The hype effectively destroyed any enjoyment I had of this movie. I went in with high expectations, only to be severely disappointed. There is absolutely nothing original about this movie, and it's only as old school as maybe Scream.

If you want old school horror in new movies, there are ones that do it much better, and on a much lower budget (Murder Loves Killers Too and Hell's Ground immediately come to mind).

Debated between rent it and skip it, but ultimately went with rent it. I could not recommend an unseen purchase on this, though.

Oh, plus its released overshadowed the much better Behind the Mask, so I'm pissed about that, too.

Spoiler:
We have a boy killed by his father that then turns into a scared yet totally raging maniac killer who rips Mrs. Permatteo's head in half and you compare that to "'What's your favorite horror movie?' Scream"?

It totally didn't feel old school. It was more '90s horror than '70s/ early '80s that it implied it was.

Yea...I won't see it either.

Then again, I don't watch horror, so...there you go. Although AR is softly easing me into it, like a first-time anal-virgin.

Because I scare easily.

:(

Actually, I don't watch horror for a very specific reason. I'm a horror film director, so I don't watch horror for that very reason. I don't want to be tempted into copying something that I might see. I'm here because way back in the day, before "The Crash," There were some very fine and fair reviews of my films. I liked the reviews, and now I love the people.
