Yep. That would be me.
:yay: That's cool.

I love horror and am always excited when meeting somebody from the scene. It's great you are here.

Are you planning any new projects, if you don't mind me asking?

I went in to this one with low expectations and I ended up liking it. Its not "guilty pleasure" good, but its good enough to rec. to someone.

The hype effectively destroyed any enjoyment I had of this movie. I went in with high expectations, only to be severely disappointed. There is absolutely nothing original about this movie, and it's only as old school as maybe Scream.

If you want old school horror in new movies, there are ones that do it much better, and on a much lower budget (Murder Loves Killers Too and Hell's Ground immediately come to mind).

Debated between rent it and skip it, but ultimately went with rent it. I could not recommend an unseen purchase on this, though.
Completely agree.

One of my favorites in the horror genre is a severely underrated Cantonese film called Ab-normal Beauty. It's slow-moving. It has only a handful of characters. And yet, when the final act arrives and subjects its handful of characters to a masked killer's brutality, the film feels even more violent than it really is.

Hatchet is one of those horror movies that relies on the gore without having a story or characters to make it worthwhile. It’s completely empty. Skip it.

I'm a horror film director, so I don't watch horror for that very reason.
I don't want to be tempted into copying something that I might see.

Absolutely hated this movie. I reviewed it (on my own) and recommended it if you liked "Being a Moron, Getting Hit in the Face with a Brick."

The only good thing about it was that

Then again, I don't watch horror, so...there you go. Although AR is softly easing me into it, like a first-time anal-virgin.
You are kidding aren't you? Sorry for my ignorance, but why are you here if you don't watch horror? :what:
I'm not big on Horror movies either. I'm here because AR asked me to join and I have a crush on him. :gay:

I'm thinking I might make one to keep in the trunk of the car though. Might be nice to have hot water if I ever have to watch a Matthews compound for 3-4 days hoping to get the drop on Sergio Frenchi. - Neon Bolan

I haven't seen it yet, partly because of the mixed reviews, and partly because it's just buried on my Netflix list and I won't blind buy it.

I've been looking forward to it, as a slasher fan, but a lot of what I hear is like everyone's saying, it's not old-school horror so much as "not a remake."

I liked Hatchet, but there is no more overrated movie EVER. Had I not heard any hype, I would have thought it was a fun little waste of 90 minutes.

Everybody says it's overrated, but I know no one that loves the movie as much as I do. Maybe folks were too much looking forward to it?

But let's be objective here: decent looking chicks that flash, interesting story, funny lines, pretty good gore, ... what's wrong?
