Sadie Ritter will do anything for her son, Clark, even if that means traveling to the dangerous Red Realm to save him. Who cares that he's the Antichrist? He's her Antichrist. Now that she's here in this treacherous hellscape, where does she go next? Can she find Clark and her sister, Heather, who have been stranded here?

The short answer is “Yes.” Babyteeth #13 doesn't waste any time getting into the story. Sadie and Heather are reunited, but not before we get a true understanding of how terrifying this place is. Artist Garry Brown outdoes himself in this issue with some jaw-dropping landscapes of pure madness. I hesitate to describe the Red Realm as Hell because that doesn't do it justice. This is some next level stuff.

This is perfectly captured in a stunning double-page spread that's packed to the gills with otherworldly creatures and assorted monsters. Capping it off is the Devil's ride, dubbed “The Destroyladon.” It's a giant shark with spider legs and a scorpion tail. We should just close up comics at this point because nothing is going to top that. Good night, everybody.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Red Realm is a horrifying place. It's like the sky itself is on fire. Colorist Mark Englert fills each page with fiery yellows, oranges, and reds to the point where you can practically feel the heat beating down on you as these characters trek through this area.

Heather has always been tough as nails in Babyteeth, but this issue takes her to Mad Max levels of badassery. Time moves faster in the Red Realm, so although she's only been gone for a short time, she's probably been here for months and that's hardened her further. She is so very much in her element in this place. When she catches up to Sadie, it's like something from a metal album cover.

Letterer Taylor Esposito practically steals the show with the delivery of the only line on the page for this scene as Heather confidently and defiantly tells the Devil to get away from her sister. It's shown in a bold, direct style that epitomizes the character and her new look and it only gets better as she later tells Satan to suck her dick in an even bigger, bolder fashion.

Babyteeth has been nothing short of incredible since it started. This issue does the impossible and takes it to even new heights. I seriously cannot believe how great this comic is and it's only getting better with each new chapter. Writer Donny Cates packs this book with so much heart and incredible character moments that propel it forward at a breakneck pace. We're so invested in Sadie's life and in the lives of those around her that we can make a jump to a place like the Red Realm without even batting an eye.
