Picture this for a moment: Take Gilligan's Island, but half the cast are vampires. The other half? Werewolves! That's where we're at with Chastity as we wrap up this mini-series. The title character digs deep to face down this monster and put an end to a human trafficking ring, but will it be enough?

We've seen vampires fight werewolves for ages, but maybe not like this. Writers Daniel Maine and Erik Burnham put a nice spin on this, giving Chastity an extra boost when she drinks the blood of her enemy. She's super charged, but she realizes how this could be addicting and has to hold back a bit.

That addiction angle is what has made Chastity stand out. Vampirism is treated like a harmful disease. It can give you great power, but you lose yourself the more you embrace it. Even though she's fighting huge werewolves, Chastity has to also fight herself to maintain control. It's a pretty interesting angle that adds some more layers to the story.

The battle is brutal in the truest sense of the word. These two factions are going at it tooth and nail, literally. Maine illustrates this bloody battle with a great eye for pacing. Things speed up and get more intense and then slow down for the quieter, more somber moments, all the while two supernatural groups are tearing into each other.

Colorist Bryan Valenza covers the pages in blood. It's everywhere as the battle rages on. Where Valenza really excels is when Chastity takes a bite out of her werewolf opponent. There's a stark difference in the way the action plays out with a bright red light emanating from the half-vampire's eyes. You immediately understand the blood rage that she's under and just how dangerous she's become.

Letterer Carlos M. Mangual adds the best final touches to this knockdown, drag out fight with some of the most gruesome sound effects you'll see in comics. I don't know for sure what flesh tearing sounds like, but now I have a pretty good idea.

This arc is wrapped up with a solid ending, however the door is left wide open for more as the creative team teases a darker evil behind all of this mayhem. It's something I very much hope we get to see explored further, but with Chastity popping up in the upcoming Vampirella spin-off series, Sacredsix, I'm not sure that we'll get the opportunity. As it stands, this is a solid, blood-soaked adventure full of supernatural carnage.
