Review:
Little Nightmares #1 left me excited for more, expecting to open the pages of #2 to discover more about the game's protagonist, Six. While the second issue doesn't look further into her past, present, or future like I thought it would, it does tell the story of one of the other lost souls in her new-found group.
Once again, the comic has an effortless creepiness in its art that oozes from the page and is perfectly complemented by minimal dialogue, which never gives too much away but rather alludes to the fact that something is often very wrong, even if the characters gracing its panels don't know that yet. They soon will.

Having said that, although I enjoyed the idea of the tale being told, the surreality of everything made the narrative once again somewhat hard to follow. There was only one point where I got a little lost, but it was a key point in the narrative and I had to go back a page or two to make sure I had understood. It took me out of the moment, and that's a dangerous place to be in such a limited run.
However, I am enjoying the fact that not every issue seems like it will be focused on Six alone, and that the team is more than happy to stray in the shadowy pasts of the others inhabiting The Maw. This variance is story will be interesting to see throughout the second half of the four-issue run, and I'm always happy to look into the darkness, no matter who is taking me there. Speaking of variants... the cover art variants are all equally eye-catching and I'd happily have any (or all) of the covers sitting with pride on my shelf.

Little Nightmares #2 is another disconcerting view into the world of The Maw, and while I'm still finding it a little difficult to follow its path through the darkness at times, I'm enjoying the exploration of all of the little nightmares that make up such a bleak world. I'll be back for more in Little Nightmares #3.
