It wouldn't be Frightfest without a parnormal entity movie to set tongues wagging. The synopsis for Alistair Legrand's The Diabolical is brief and may hide the bigger picture with the film. Although it appears to focus on parnaormal goings-on, its listing on IMDB suggests the genre is horror/sci-fi so there may be something otherworldly to whatever plagues the protagonists in this film. It marks the feature film directorial debut of Alistair Legrand, whose previous work has been on commercials and music videos. Can we expect a Zack Snyder-esque rise to fame from a promising start, or will social media get a chance to spin on the title if they don't like it? Only time will tell.

The Diabolical hits US cinemas, VOD and iTunes on October 16th 2015, whereas us Brits can catch its UK premiere on Friday 28th August in the Film 4 Screen at 3.25pm,  Arrow Screen at 11.15am and Horror Channel Screen at 1.55pm.

When a single mother (Ali Larter) and her two young children are tormented by an increasingly strange and intense presence in their quiet suburban home, she turns to her scientist boyfriend to take on the violent forces that paranormal experts are too frightened to face.
