Hunt a Killer: Chestnut Falls - Episode 1

In case you missed it – and if you did, subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss any more! – a few weeks ago we posted a video of my unboxing of the first ‘episode’ in the Hunt a Killer series, "Chestnut Falls". I wanted to dive into it right away and put my sleuthing to the test, but unfortunately the job that pays the bills called me out of town for a spell.

Finally, I got to start the investigation last night, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with the amount of information/clues provided in this first box. If you watch the video, it doesn't seem like a lot going on at first glance, but once you start reading the letters and reports, a story starts to form and you can begin making educated guess on where the case is going. For example, using the witness statements along with police evidence, I’m able to rule out one suspect (out of nine). Granted, I have my feelings on two others, but those might be red herrings.

I like how the evidence is presented in such a way that a few of the suspects are unlikable. While the instinct may be to dig deeper into these people more, I’ve watched enough Law & Order to know that sometimes the biggest jerk isn’t necessarily the guilty party. Many times, yes, but not all the time.

I was already looking forward to the next box because I love mystery packages, but even more so now because I’m really curious on where this investigation will take me.

To get in on the game, head on over to Hunt a Killer and order yourself a season!
