ALEISTER & ADOLF IS NOT A SITCOM LIKE LAVERNE & SHIRLEY

I'm a sucker for alternate history stories.  If you tell me a story about George Washington fighting alien cyborgs as he crossed the Delaware, I will love you forever.  This is why my ears picked up when Dark Horse Comics announced Aleister & Adolf, an original graphic novel written by Douglas Rushkoff and illustrated by Michael Avon Oeming, described as “a mind-bending tale of iconographic and mysticism, set against the backdrop of a battle-torn Europe.”  Despite it's title, it is most certainly not a sitcom like Laverne & Shirley.  These two will not be sharing an apartment somewhere and getting into hilarious hijinks.  Here's the write-up from the publisher:

In a story spanning generations and featuring some of the most notable and notorious idealists of the twentieth century, legendary occultist Aleister Crowley develops a powerful and dangerous new weapon to defend the world against Adolf Hitler’s own war machine—spawning an unconventional new form of warfare that is fought not with steel but with symbols and ideas. But these intangible arsenals are much more insidious—and perhaps much more dangerous—than their creators could have ever conceived.

I'm so in.  Check out that cover too.  That's gorgeous.  Aleister & Adolf is set for release on November 2nd, 2016.
