all hail the popcorn king poster large

I can't remember when I first heard about All Hail the Popcorn King, the documentary on Joe R. Lansdale, but I have been looking forward to it ever since. Joe R. Lansdale is one of my favorite authors. Not relegated to one genre, the man has written horror, splatterpunk, thriller, mystery and more. And any attention directed at him is well worth it. He's a national treasure from East Texas and having the pleasure of meeting him on a few occasions, he's an amazing storyteller. So it's only natural I have high expectations for this documentary on him.

While it doesn't have an official release date, a trailer, poster, and stills have dropped, so we're close. Squee Projects needs to hurry up and release this.

Directed by Hansi Oppenheimer, All Hail the Popcorn King stars Lansdale, Bruce Campbell, James Purefoy, Joe Hill, Don Coscarelli, Mick Garris, and Amber Benson

With Squee Projects’ All Hail the Popcorn King, filmmaker Hansi Oppenheimer paints a vivid picture of award-winning author and screenwriter Joe R.Lansdale (“Bubba Ho-Tep”, “Cold in July”) in what’s been described as a “five star” film (GrimdarkMagazine). Schow and former Fangoria editor Tony Timpone.

All Hail The Popcorn King has been touring the country and will be released wider over the coming months.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
