BEAUTY MEETS BRUTALITY IN SHOW'S END

After reading and loving Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, I have a soft spot for freak shows. That's why my ears perked up when I heard about Show's End, coming this summer from Mad Cave Studios. The comic, written by Anthony Cleveland, illustrated by Jeferson Sadzinski, and colored by Julian Gonzalez, mixes beauty and brutality at a freak show. Here's the write-up from the publisher:

Equal parts brutal and beautiful, Show's End takes place in Georgia during the 1920s and follows Loralye, a 12-year-old runaway seeking refuge with a traveling group of freak show performers. At first, she isn't welcomed for being too “ordinary.” But what her new found family doesn't know, is that Loralye is hiding a secret more freakish than anyone could ever imagine...

No specific release date has been set for Show's End, but I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for it.
