Bushido The Way Of The Warrior CoverThe day has finally arrived where movie studios have realized that there is a virtual treasure trove of ideas in comics.  With big name blockbusters like The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises dominating the box office, studios are scooping up all kinds of funny book properties, even ones that haven't even been released yet.  I'm pretty sure that Mark Millar has a group of studio executives sitting outside his house just waiting for him to think of something that might be turned into a comic.  The latest book to get the big screen treatment is Bushido: The Way of the Warrior from Heroes and Villains Entertainment and Top Cow Productions.

Mandalay Pictures have picked up the series, written by Rob Levin and drawn by Skan to develop into a feature film.  The story takes place in feudal Japan and centers on Kichiro, a shipwrecked boy who grows up to become an outcast amongst the Samurai.  He discovers that an army of vampires is about to overrun the empire so Kichiro must lead a group of Samurai against the bloodsuckers to save Japan.

The first issue of Bushido isn't due out until early 2013 but it's managed to generate enough buzz to get this deal so I'm definitely going to be checking it out.  What do you think of the comic's sudden rise to multiple mediums before hitting even one?
