Dark Circle Comics, Archie Comics' superhero imprint has two solid books on its hands with The Black Hood and The FoxThe Shield and The Hangman are in the pipeline already and the publisher has announced a fifth classic property joining the line in early 2016 in The Web.

Written by Dave White and illustrated by Szymon Kudranski, the comic follows Jane Raymond, a 14 year old high school student in suburban New Jersey who idolizes a hero known as The Web.  When she finds herself with mysterious powers not unlike those of her idol, Jane struggles to balance her new life as a superhero while also dealing with family issues.

It's no secret that I'm a fan of what Dark Circle has been up to.  The books have been great reads, especially the recently completed first arc of The Black Hood.  The teaser artwork above gives The Web an eerie quality.  I'm definitely intrigued.  I'm just bummed that we have to wait until next year to check it out.  Also, I'm so glad that I didn't title this post something like "Dark Circle Comics Gets Tangled in The Web" because you know that that headline is out there on the Internet, right?
