Dark Horse Comics is uncovering another hidden gem in the Alien franchise. The publisher, in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox, has announced an upcoming comic book adaptation for the original screenplay of Alien. This will delve into an alternate line of events as they were initially conceived by Dan O'Bannon before they became the Alien movie manuscript.

Alien: The Original Screenplay is written by Cristiano Seixas, illustrated by Guilherme Balbi, and colored by Candice Han.

En route to back to Earth, the crew of the starship Snark intercepts an alien transmission. Their investigation leads them to a desolate planetoid, a crashed alien spacecraft, and a pyramidic structure of unknown origin. Then the terror begins . . .

Alien: The Original Screenplay #1 is set for release on April 22nd, 2020, conveniently timed for Alien Day on April 26th.
