Childs Play Poster 2 Large

Although the movie doesn't get released from Orion Pictures until June 21st, 2019, a new clip for the Child's Play reboot has been released showcasing Mark Hamill's voiceover. While I'm definitely in the minority of someone who doesn't care about remakes one way or the other, I have to admit that this clip has slightly piqued my interest. I didn't care this remake was happening, as nothing is taking away the original, but I will admit to being bummed that the always-fantastic Brad Dourif would not be reprising his iconic role. However, after watching this clip (and talking with people who have heard his voice work), Hamill is going to do the Chuckster just fine.

Child's Play was directed by Lars Klevberg, written by Tyler Burton Smith, and produced by Seth Graham-Smith and David Katzenberg. In addition to Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky, the film stars Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, and Brian Tyree Henry.

A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
