I've mentioned time and again my love for Hunt A Killer. From the games I've played, I've noticed an extreme amount of time is spent going into the detail of its releases. There's also a lot of love going into the cases, and it shows. These cats put work into what they put out, and the experience is better off for it.

Recently, the company has announced two big things. First up, it's partnered with Scholastic to publish a YA book. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous. This is exactly what I would have been all over back in the day. There's no cover for the book just yet, but you can pre-order it by clicking here

Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education, and media company, today announced a publishing deal with fast-growing entertainment brand Hunt A Killer, best known for its interactive mystery, sci-fi, and horror-themed games. The worldwide deal grants Scholastic the rights to produce a wide range of all language formats including novels, eBooks, and audio books. The first title, Perfect Score by Angelica Monai, is set to publish in January 2022. It will be an original young adult novel featuring a mind-bending mystery, all new characters, and intriguing clues characteristic of Hunt A Killer games.

“We’re excited to partner with Scholastic and to see our brand represented on bookshelves across the nation,” said Hunt A Killer CEO and Co-Founder, Ryan Hogan. “Our mission as a company is to consistently raise the bar with engaging, interactive stories, and we want to continue to do that through new mediums. Working with Scholastic is a great opportunity to grow the audience for our brand of immersive, entertaining, and suspenseful storytelling.”

With over 2 million games sold, Hunt A Killer is the world’s premier murder mystery company known for complex and unpredictable stories. Following in the style of Hunt A Killer’s bestselling games, Perfect Score readers can use the designed clues throughout the book—including notes, emails, news articles, school records, and more—to help aspiring P.I. Jolene Kelley find the culprit behind her beloved guidance counselor’s untimely death.

In Perfect Score, Jo is skipping class at her fancy new private school, North Shore Prep, when she witnesses Mr. Medina fall in front of an oncoming L train. The police call it a tragic accident, but Jo knows what she saw was murder. With help from her friends – and the inside scoop from her public-defender parents and her mentor at the state attorney’s office – Jo opens up her own investigation into Mr. Medina’s death, uncovering a scandal brewing at North Shore Prep in the process. Jo has a slew of suspects, including administrators, students, parents, and even local politicians. Any one of them could be the killer—and if Jo doesn’t act fast, she could be the next victim.

Debra Dorfman, Vice President and Publisher, Global Licensing, Brands and Media at Scholastic said: “Our team at Scholastic are big fans of the Hunt A Killer games, so we are thrilled to expand their impressive storytelling to a natural new format. The Hunt A Killer books are perfect for fans of the murder mystery games, as well as young adult readers who love a fast-paced whodunit and innovative new ways to tell a story. We can’t wait for readers to get their hands on Perfect Score!”

Next up is a new mystery for you to solve! This one is part of Hunt A Killer's retail games and you'll be working with none other than Nancy Drew.

Nancy Drew is in danger and Hunt A Killer is asking your help in solving a mystery. The immersive entertainment company announced today that they have partnered with the legendary publishing company, Simon & Schuster, for a new Nancy Drew retail game titled, Mystery At Magnolia Gardens. In this all-in-one game, Nancy investigates a poisoning at a botanical garden filled with exotic plants that are not just pretty, but are also toxic.

“For more than 90 years, Nancy Drew has been a beloved character and an unmatched crime-stopper,” said Stephanie Voros, Vice President and Director of Subsidiary Rights at Simon & Schuster. “Now, thanks to Hunt A Killer’s newest immersive game experience, players get to work with Nancy and solve a dangerous crime.”

A young woman with a penchant for adventure and a talent for solving mysteries, Nancy Drew has been popular since her first appearance in 1930. From the books, a series of movies in the 1930s starring Bonita Granville, a popular television series in the 1970s with Pamela Sue Martin, to a current television series starring Kennedy McMann, the character has intrigued audiences for nearly a century.

Now with Mystery At Magnolia Gardens, all the clues will come in one box for a thrilling game night experience. Players will use their detective skills to help Nancy Drew solve a beguiling mystery at a botanical exhibit known as Magnolia Gardens. While investigating a potential poisoning at the exhibit, Nancy herself becomes mysteriously ill and it’s up to the players to help her solve the case. The game will contain a variety of realistic evidence, including maps, police reports, personal effects from characters, and more to help detectives piece together what has happened before the culprit strikes again.

“We are thrilled to partner with Simon & Schuster and are excited to see fans of the Nancy Drew franchise and fans of Hunt A Killer come together to solve this new mystery,” said Hunt A Killer CEO and Co-Founder, Ryan Hogan. “As a company, we are constantly growing and expanding more into retail, including with this new partnership. We think this will be a fun experience for our community to solve a case alongside one of the greatest sleuths in history.”

Hunt A Killer has continuously grown since its launch in 2016 and has expanded its portfolio of games and partnerships over the last year. Just last fall they announced their partnership with Lionsgate for their subscription series, Hunt A Killer Horror: Blair Witch, and first expanded into retail with their all-in-one box, Death At The Dive Bar. In June, the company also announced the release of two additional retail games including Murder At The Motel, available exclusively at Target and Target.com, and Body On The Boardwalk, available for pre-order on Amazon. The company will also be releasing a new premium box, Camp Calamity, on their website in August.

Mystery At Magnolia Gardens is available to pre-order on Amazon for $29.99 and is designed for players aged 14 and up. Hunt A Killer plans to release the game on October 15th, with further expansion planned for 2022.
