IMAGE & SKYBOUND REVEAL THE WALKING DEAD DELUXE VARIANT COVERS

The Walking Dead is about to get new life – or unlife? – in the The Walking Dead Deluxe. Image Comics & Skybound Entertainment are re-releasing the series from writer Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard from the beginning, now with colors by Dave McCaig. To further celebrate this, the publisher has revealed a series of six connecting variant covers by Adlard, that will be featured across the first arc.

These are not the only variants for the books. They'll so include covers from David Finch, Tony Moore, Julian Totino Tedesco, and Arthur Adams, all commemorating major character introductions and the series most memorable moments. Each issue will also feature a new installment of “The Cutting Room Floor” with Kirkman's original handwritten plots along with commentary on abandoned storylines and plot points that may have changed along the way.

These issues will not be collected into trade papersbacks any time soon, so fans are encouraged not to wait for the trade to check these out. The first issue is set for release on October 7th, 2020.
