Jughead: The Hunger has been a wild ride so far, building from the opening one-shot released last year.  The ongoing series following a werewolf Jughead Jones on the run from monster hunter Betty Cooper and Archie Andrews has been gripping from the jump.  Archie Comics has shared an exclusive preview of Jughead: The Hunger #5 ahead of its release on April 18th.  Check it out below.

Welcome home, Jughead Jones! After months of being on the run as a fugitive, something brings our favorite hamburger eating wolfman back to Riverdaleā€”and that something is an out-for-blood Reggie! Will good ol' Jug survive this battle of the werewolves?

"This is something we've really been building up to this since Jughead: The Hunger #1-- since the original one shot, actually-- this inevitable fight between Reggie and Jughead. Issue 5 kicks things off as werewolf Reggie and his new pack target Jug's sister, Jellybean." says writer Frank Tieri "Not to spoil too much, but there's also a terrible act of violence in this issue involving a beloved longtime Archie character. Truth be told, it was probably the hardest death scene I've had to write so far... and as fans of Jughead: The Hunger are well aware, we've had quite a few of those"
"The stakes are only getting higher as this book goes on!" added artist Joe Eisma "I'm excited for how the lore is unfolding, and to draw what that nasty Reggie and his gang of werewolves are up to."
