LADY MECHANIKA & STRAY DOGS HIT FCBD 2021 FOR IMAGE COMICS

Free Comic Book Day has been pushed back to August 14th this year and although it will be a little later, the comics still look pretty great. As is the case with Image Comics which announced two titles available for free at participating retailers: Lady Mechanika and Stray Dogs.

Lady Mechanika by Joe Benitez makes the jump from Aspen Comics to Image Comics with a bang with this issue, following a young woman during the Victorian Era as she searches the secrets to her past that left her with extraordinary, yet unnatural mechanical limbs. The FCBD issue includes a stand-alone short story “The Demon of Satan's Alley” which first introduced the character and her steampunk world, plus a preview of “The Monster of the Ministry of Hell-th,” the newest story from Benitez which will debut later this year.

Stray Dogs from writer Tony Fleecs and artist Trish Forstner may look like a Disney special, but it's far more sinister. Describes as “Silence of the Lambs meets Lady and the Tramp,” the comic introduces us to Sophie, a little dog who can't remember what happened or how she ended up in this house with these other dogs...or what happened to her lady. The FCBD issue features a new prologue “That Doggie in the Window” that tells the tale of the first dog ever to come to the Master's house.

Free Comic Book Day is on August 14th, 2021. While these comics are free to you, they're not free to retailers so be sure to pick up something else if you drop by to snag some of these free books.
