It's a double-edged sword for a horror site editor when your writers are involved in other projects. On the one hand it can mean their output is diminished due to other commitments, but on the other it does mean you get to feel incredibly proud of people when they start to reap rewards to their talents. Such is the case for our writer, Katie Bonham, who is a hardworking short film director (in that she works hard on her short films, not that she's diminutive in stature) among her myriad other talents. Great news today comes in the message that her fourth short film, Mindless, will premiere at Film4 Frightfest in Glasgow. That would be cause for celebration enough, but this marks the second time the young director has premiered a short there, with her previous film The Paper Round screening at Frightfest Glasgow 2015. Read on for the official info...

Katie Bonham's fourth horror short, Mindless, starring Nicholas Vince (Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II and Nightbreed), has been selected to screen its world premiere at this years Film 4's Frightfest Glasgow at 3:40pm on 26th February in the Glasgow Film Theatre. Mindless tells the story of Peter (Nicholas Vince) - a senile, middle-aged man whose house is mysteriously torn apart day after day. Is Peter a risk to himself or is something more sinister about to be unleashed?

For the second year in a row Bonham has held a world premiere at Film 4's Fightfest Glasgow; with her previous short film, The Paper Round, screened to great success as one of only two shorts selected in 2015.

Mindless was mostly self-funded by Bonham and shot over 2 days on location in Kent, England with a crew of eight and cast of four. Joining forces, for the first time, with prolific producer, Candice Redford (Banjo), this is the fourth short written and directed by Bonham and her longest offering to date. Bonham's explosion onto the horror scene has also meant first assistant directing duties for Andy Stewart (Remnant), Damon Rickard (The Package), Chelsey Burdon (Dead Bitch) and Mark Logan (Rats). Bonham will be attending the festival to introduce Mindless.

Film 4's Frightfest takes place on the 26th and 27th of February and is part of Glasgow Film festival.
