NEIL GAIMAN'S FORBIDDEN BRIDES GETS COMIC BOOK TREATMENT

I'm often reminded that Neil Gaiman has a huge body of work that I have not yet seen.  This ranges from kids books to novels and everything in between.  The guy has been busy.  Dark Horse Comics has announced a graphic novel adaptation of one of Gaiman's short stories that I have not yet read.  Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire just might have the longest title ever.  Adapted by Shane Oakley, the graphic novel is set for release this January.

Forbidden Brides was originally published in Gaiman's collection Fragile Things.  It's described as a “haunting example of satirical gothic literature” and it follows a writer trying to compose nonfiction on a dark and stormy night.  Although he wants to create serious stories about frail women in white nightgowns, mysterious bumps in the night, and the undead rising to collect old debts, he keeps inserting comedy into his dark tales.

Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire will be available on January 25th, 2017.  It's a hardcover graphic novel with a pretty sweet cover which you can check out above.
