PROFILE THE JOKER WITH CRIMINAL SANITY SECRET FILES
Joker / Harley: Criminal Sanity, the DC Black Label series following Harley Quinn on the hunt for serial killers including the Clown Prince of Crime, is getting a bit of an expansion this June with a new one-shot. Joker / Harley: Criminal Sanity Secret Files #1 looks at pieces of the puzzle on Harley's investigation board along with a peek into John Kelly's high school notebook, which he still carries today.
Series writer Kami Garcia is joined by forensic psychiatrist and behavior analyst Edward Kurz, M.D. on this book. Garcia has been consulting with Kurz throughout the series to ensure the accuracy of the story and Harley's methodology.
“I had worked on an X-Files book, and my friend, Dr. Ed Kurz, was one of my consultants,” said Garcia. “He’s a real forensic psychiatrist profiler. Harley Quinn basically has a very similar job. Dr. Kurz works in a facility for the criminally insane. I wanted to play with the idea of Harley having that training and working as a behavior analyst and a profiler.”
“We profiled Joker as if he were a real person,” continued Garcia. “I wanted to write a very accurate procedural. I wanted people to make sure their doors were locked after they read the issue. To really feel like he could be out there.”
Joker / Harley: Criminal Sanity Secret Files #1 features artwork by David Mack, Jason Badower, and more. It's set for release on June 6th, 2020.
