SLASH-HER LINEUP

Coming from Kandisha Press in March 2022 is its latest anthology, Slash-Her. The book is filled with 21 stories from 21 women, and it's a great lineup. I've really enjoyed everything I've read from those in this anthology, own even more of those I haven't, and considering this table of contents, I'm sure I'll be adding more names to my TBR pile. While that's a temporary cover (the pull quote will be updated once it's complete), I dig it. It has that old-school '80s slasher feel. This really is a no-brainer blind buy.

Kandisha Press is a women-owned indie horror publisher, promoting women from all over the world. Their four previous women of horror anthologies have included some of the top horror authors of the indie world, including V Castro and Sonora Taylor, as well as underrepresented voices from across the globe. Kandisha prides itself on inclusivity and being a safe place for all, whether the author be a first-timer or a Bram Stoker Award nominee.

SYNOPSIS
We invited twenty-one women to send us their interpretation of the slasher genre. Whether splattery tales of Final Girls, a slow, quiet look into a killer’s mind or something quite unexpected, each segment has been written with passion and purpose. With own voices bringing their unique perspective, some tropes applauded and others over-ruled, there will be something for everyone. Whether you are a slasher aficionado, a fan of splatterpunk (Kenzie Jennings and Christine Morgan are award nominees) or just looking for something different, each author brings her A Game to the table and just like Sidney, Laurie and Ripely, leaves you wanting more…

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
