Man, I love convention season. The announcements just keep rolling in and San Diego Comic Con is still a month away. The latest is from indie publisher Blackwatch Comics who have announced that their Soul Stealer trilogy will be collected for the first time in one massive collection at SDCC. The series is written by Michael Easton and illustrated by Christopher Shy.
Soul Stealer: The Collector's Edition will be a large format collection (13" x 9"), clocking in at 536 pages all in full color with 100 pages of new art. All three volumes of the saga (The Beaten and the Damned, Blood and Rain, and Last to Die) are included. The retail price is $59.99 but act fast because there are only 1,000 total copies. Oh, did I mention that they're signed by the creators?
Here's the official synopsis of the trilogy:
The Soul Stealer trilogy answers the question: How far would you go to get back someone you love? This centuries-spanning saga follows fallen warrior and Frankenstein-like pieced together protagonist Kalan, living in a sci-fi/fantasy world mixing Easton’s gothic prose with Shy’s moody, esoteric, and atmospheric imagery. Overwrought with grief when Kalan loses his love Oxania in a murder by nemesis Apis Bull, he transforms into a supernatural being who returns souls from the afterlife in his quest to reunite with his beautiful, elusive lover and avenge her killer.
Fans attending SDCC can pick up a copy at the Blackwatch Comics booth #4401. If you're not heading to San Diego this year (like me), you can order the Soul Stealer trilogy online here.
