It's a rare occurrence nowadays for a comic to hit issue #100.  It's difficult for some books to find their audience and a publisher is quick to cancel a book if it's not getting good sales.  When a series does reach that centennial issue, it's usually a cause to celebrate.  Robert Kirkman's hit comic The Walking Dead will reach that milestone this July and Image Comics plans to celebrate.

Regular series artist Charlie Adlard has revealed this awesome, yet spoiler-filled wrap-around cover for the issue which depicts Rick standing over a ton of dead bodies, most of which are characters that didn't make it.  New readers to the comic should avoid checking this out, but damn, does it look cool.

Several variant covers will be issued as well by Frank Quitely, Bryan Hitch, Ryan Ottley, Sean Phillips, and Image founders Marc Silvestri and Todd McFarlane.  We'll post them up here when they're unveiled but it looks like July will be pretty exciting for fans of The Walking Dead.

What do you think of the cover by Charlie Adlard?  Which cover are you most excited about?
