Telltale's The Walking Dead: The Final Season shamble to Epic Games store

Studio: Skybound Games
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Epic Games Store)
Release date: 15 January 2019

Remember when we thought Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season would never seen its conclusion after the near-closure of Telltale Games in 2018? Well, good news. If you didn’t already know, Skybound Games, an arm of Robert Kirkman’s production company, Skybound Entertainment, are making sure it sees the light of day. Not only that, but for PC gamers the third of four games in the final season is available exclusively to the Epic Games store today.

Already bought Episode 1 and Episode 2 on a different PC platform? No worries. Despite this exclusive partnership, Epic have stated that “Fans who already bought the season on a different PC platform will still receive the final two episodes through their previous point of purchase.”

This sounds like a win-win scenario, allowing Epic Games to compete in a Steam-dominated market while allowing the team behind Telltale’s TWD to complete the series they’ve been working so hard to create, along with all the fans who no doubt can’t wait to get their hands on the last episodes in Clementine’s story.

Speaking of which, the voice of Clementine herself answered some frequently asked questions over on the Skybound’s YouTube channel:

Episode 3 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season, named ‘Broken Toys’, is released today, 15 January 2019, with Episode 4 also coming this year.
