All good things must come to an end. Such is the case in life and comic books. Wayward, the stellar comic chronicling a supernatural journey through folklore on multiple continents will begin its final story arc next month with issue #26. Written by Jim Zub, illustrated by Steven Cummings, and colored by Tamra Bonvillain, Wayward #26 is carefully crafted to get readers up to speed and prepare for the big revelations to come. It will also feature an essay about the death penalty in Japan by Zack Davisson. Check out a preview of the issue below.

The end begins here! The Wayward are together at last, but is it too late? The Yokai have prepared a sacrifice that could change everything. This is war, and the battle lines will be drawn in Tokyo.

STEVEN CUMMINGS (Legends of the Dark Knight, Dungeons & Dragons) and JIM ZUB (Avengers, Samurai Jack) get ready to close out their modern supernatural spectacle with the same sweeping artwork and gut-wrenching drama that has made this series a fan favorite for the past four years. Get on board and prepare for impact.

Wayward has been a fun ride so far. The series was originally pitched as “Buffy in Japan” and it’s moved way past that by this point. While I’m bummed that the series is ending, I’m excited to see how the creative team closes it out. Wayward #26 is set for release on June 20th, 2018 from Image Comics.
