Funny Book Splatter 030: Paul Tobin

This week’s guest is writer Paul Tobin!  His work includes the phenomenal Colder trilogy with artist Juan Ferreyra and the upcoming Made Men from Oni Press.  Made Men follows Jutte Shelley, a descendant of Victor Frankenstein who’s forced into the family business after her and her fellow police officers are gunned down in an ambush.

Paul and I had a great talk about Made Men, as well as the horror genre in general.  I loved picking his brain about scares in comics, influences, and more.  He tells some really fun, spooky stories in this episode.

Made Men #1 is set for release on September 6th from Oni Press.  Colder is being collected into a massive 400+ page omnibus on September 27th from Dark Horse Comics.

Paul can be found online at his official website, PaulTobin.net and on Twitter @PaulTobin.

In other news, Funny Book Splatter has surpassed 10,000 downloads.  Thank you so much for giving this show a listen and to all the guests that have taken the time to chat with me about their work.  I am not slowing down and I’ve got a number of exciting guests lined up.  Plus, I’ll be at New York Comic Con in October so I’m hoping to get some rapid fire interviews from the convention floor.

Lastly, if you're a horror comics creator, I want to hear from you!  Whether you're a first time writer launching a Kickstarter campaign or an established artist who has been working in the industry for years, you'd be a welcome guest on the show.  Reach out to me via email or on Twitter.
