The Twilight Drive-In, Jughead's most prized establishment in all of Riverdale, is getting shut down. No one seems to care but Jughead. He is fighting to save this little piece of nostalgia. On the other end of the spectrum, Betty is finding it harder and harder to deal with the idea that Archie and Ms. Grundy are having an affair. Apart from being in love with him, she also sees how inappropriate this is and how suspicious Ms. Grundy's life truly is, as there is no record of her prior to a year ago and Geraldine Grundy isn't even her real name.

Alice Cooper (laughing forever about her name; also, the role is played by Madchen Amick, someone I would Fire Walk With any day), Betty's mom, snoops through her room and finds her journal where she discovers information about Archie and Grundy. Being the drama starting bitch that she is, she must tell Archie's dad. She can't just stay out of other peoples business. While this character annoys the heck out of me, we need a good pot stirrer on this show or else the ball wouldn't keep rolling. Plus, she can't be much worst of person after exposing the autopsy details of Jason's body two episodes ago. I can only imagine how she will be when Polly gets back into the picture. I. Am. Excited.

Cheryl is becoming more and more annoyed that her crown might be getting stolen by Veronica and decides to start causing drama. Also, she uses the insult 'hair models of the damned' and that is now my new favorite. Cheryl spots Hermione, Veronica's mother getting into a heated situation with a Southside Serpent, the local gang of criminals and deadbeats. She uses this as a tactic against Veronica.

Whatever feud is beginning with between these two is something we need more of. More fire, more ice. These two alpha females are making sure we choose a side. I am hungry to see how cutthroat this can get. No queen likes being dethroned, especially by their biggest threat.

Jughead hosts one last night at the drive in. A final farewell to a place him and his sister, Jellybean, grew up with. During this evening of goodbyes, Alice decides that is going to force Archie's hand and exposes the affair he is having with Ms. Grundy, who they basically run out of town. ABOUT DAMN TIME, your story line was boring and we need Archie to grow as a character. Hopefully, he will suck less now that the succubus teacher is out of the picture.

The episode closes with finding out that Jughead had been living at the drive-in and that his dad, FP Jones is a the leader of the Southside Serpents and is also Billy Loomis, sorry, Skeet Ulrich. Not saying he's going to end up being a bad guy, but that's kind of how Skeet rolls. Whatever the case, I want to see how this storyline goes. Does Jughead become a Southside Serpent or remain homeless? I need episode 5 to happen now. Seeing how Jughead lives, and how he is basically homeless now, just makes him even more lovable. He knows how to make the best out of every situation. This is definitely not the Jughead we grew up reading, I mean he hasn't eaten a single burger yet (yes, I'm not getting over this).

This episode kicks everything into gear. Hopefully with Grundy out of the picture, Archie can get the arc his character deserves. Betty is becoming a little Nancy Drew in her hunt for who killed Jason and what is going on with her sister. I know she cares about her sisters, but it's starting to feel like there is way more to the story than that. However, we have no idea who killed Jason, but we do know they broke into Kevin's dad's office, the police chief, and destroyed the wall of suspects and evidence. Someone who wasn't at the drive-in.

About The Author
Ali Chappell
Staff Reviewer - Canada
Ali Chappell grew up in a wholesome Canadian family that embraced her love of horror at a young age, which allowed her to become desensitized towards its violent nature. She has a several degrees, including business, a triple threat theater degree and is currently working on her third in the field of archaeology. On top of being a writer and an avid horror fan, she is also a yoga teacher, archer, tarot card reader, in the midst of planning her first heist and still enjoys the bright life of being a struggling actress. When she isn't traveling the globe, she is usually found hiding in a movie theater hating the world and everyone in it. However, she is also very optimistic and cheerful and hopes one day Joe Dante will notice her (so she can stop obsessing over him, it's getting kind of weird).
